Dr. Aimee Collette Chagnon, MD

I was referred to Dr. Chagnon about five years ago and it was the best thing that’s ever happened in my medical history! I have suffered from chronic illnesses for most of my life and chronic pain for the last 20 years or so. So I have seen A LOT of doctors over the years. Dr. Chagnon is in a class of her own! She is the most caring person you will ever meet. She actually cares about her patients and genuinely wants to see them get better. She is incredibly intelligent, very knowledgeable about her field and keeps up-to-date on all new therapies. She is willing to go above and beyond for her patients. That includes spending the time necessary to really cover what’s going on at each appointment. This does tend to make her run a bit behind schedule at times. But personally I would wait as long as it takes to be able to get the time and attention that she provides me, and I’m actually glad that she is giving all her patients the same time and attention, as that is what patients deserve… from healthcare professionals! I feel incredibly lucky and grateful that Dr. Chagnon is in my life and is helping me with my terrible pain issues. I would also add that the people she chooses to have work in the office are also wonderful. Lisa (and earlier Michelle also) has always treated me with respect and professionalism and is always very quick to return calls or emails. I always feel better after seeing Dr. Chagnon and consider myself deeply lucky to be one of her patients!!

If I could rate less than one star I would. My daughter was referred by her primary physician. We called four times to get an appointment with no response. We finally went to the office to make the appointment and encountered the rudest front desk receptionist. She kept interrupting to ask questions that, if she had just listened to what was being said, she would have the answers to. After finding out that my daughter needed an appointment and that a referral had been sent a month prior, she said "we are not accepting your case". When asked why, she very rudely said "we are not legally obligated to tell you anything." So we asked why no one called us to tell us that a month ago, and she simply repeated "we are not legally obligated to tell you anything." Seriously? After you got our first message you couldn't have the common decency to return the call and say that we needed to go elsewhere? In the end, I'm glad they won't be seeing my daughter. If this is how they treat… her in the waiting room where other patients can see and hear, I can only imagine how rude and unkind they would be behind closed doors.

Not unbiased, not unprejudiced, does not form her own conclusion/opinions, and has poor time-management skills-that you end up paying for.”

Dr Chagnon is the best neurologist I have ever seen, by far. She is very smart and a great diagnostician along with being incredibly kind and caring. If you don't live nearby, she's worth traveling for.

Dr. Chagnon has been my son's neurologist for several years now. she has always been amazingly kind , compassionate, and most importantly, an extremely knowledgable neurologist. I am now seeing her myself and once again I feel she is fighting for my health as much as I am. I want to add an extra note about her office mgr., Lisa. Lisa is the most efficient office manager I have ever dealt with. Both with my son and my situation Lisa has made things happen with an unbeleivable efficiency and she has always spoken to me with kindness and concern. I feel both myself and my son are in very capable hands.

just a great doctor! very interested in making a difference! Dr. and staff always treat me like gold, and always give the best possible care. I feel fortunate to have her as my doctor!

Don't know why such negativity. As a patient you have to have all information and give her all details etc for her to help. Yes, it make take a bit to get in to see her- but Lisa (office mngr tries hard to do it asap). I love the animal friendly office-but a lot of people don't like that so there goes another negative against the Doctor. But this is actually a POSITIVE- pet friendly offices relaxes patients- it sure does me. I have had migraines and other chronic pains and health issues. She helped me get them under control. She listens, talks to you- really talks. Takes the time. She does and will orders labs, etc what is needed. I live in another state and when I come to CA I always still make a visit for a check up. I still have not found a Dr where I live that is as good and great as Dr Chagnon. Keep her in Sonoma, she is needed for so many people. People forget she is a Neurologist, pain specialist, and a psychiatrist. Sometimes it seems have needed all 3 in an… appointment. She is fantastic, need I say more,,,

Very kind, gentle and truly cares about your situation . I feel like she is a doctor that truly cares about my well being. I would reccomend her to anyone seeking a neurologist.
