Dr. Ainsworth Bartholome Farrell, MD

I’ve had nothing but issues with this doctor and staff. First of all he doesn’t examine patients, no one takes vitals when you come in. There is no in person front desk person. The office is using a screen with a staffer that checks you in, and takes your payment via a monitor. Also I am only given an email receipt because the Dr. Farrell said he read somewhere that the printer ink can cause cancer. On one occasion they didn’t know I had met my deductible because they didn’t have a record of payment. I had to go through my bank statements to show them I had paid. The staff doesn’t know how to log on to the Texas Health portal to retrieve records and test results. The staff canceled my standing appointment because they didn’t have my MRI. Also Dr. Farrell is always on his computer when in the room. The staff also insists that I fill out a form instead of the nurses, which is very annoying and frustrating when I’m checking in and in horrible pain. The doctor himself is nice and amiable… but is just not a good doctor. I’m going to be finding a different doctor immediately.

Dr Farrell is a fantastic physician and a great listener. I had an extremely painful case of stenosis which was misdiagnosed by three other doctors. Dr Farrell fixed it in one day. He does a superior job of managing the small amount of pain that occasionally occurs. I recommend him especially to those at wits end.

Poor doctor. Con artist. Quotes one price and double when you get there. He had you fill out all this paper work for pain medication and won’t prescribe anything. He wants you to spend hundreds too thousands with a hope of him helping you. Don’t waste your time or money.

I have had 2 visits with Dr. Farrell and 2 procedures for chronic pain and I was very pleased with the patience and bedside manner provided during each visit. Very knowledgeable of his field of expertise.

I went to see Dr. Farrell knowing that I simply needed a steroid shot. I was told to give a urine specimen before the consultation. I received a bill for over $500 just for these tests. My major insurance company does not cover drug tests, and I would assume most do not. He set up an appointment for two steroid shots. I then received a call from his surgery center stating the shots would cost over $2,600 and that I would have to pay out of pocket and meet my deductible. After researching on my own, I found they were coding my steroid shot as a surgery. I went to another doctor who let me go to Touchstone Imaging where I was only charged $200 per shot after my insurance covered most of it. So, I feel that not only did I waste my time by going to this doctor, I am out over $500 for nothing. I never even asked for any drugs!

I would recommend this doctor to anybody who is in pain ! he’s understanding to your pain in life , and cares about you the quality of your life . Also his staff is really good at taking care of you too !! I was running late to work and they squeezed me in a earlier appointment to accommodate me !! Your not supposed to live life in pain !!Thank you doctor Farrell !!

We transferred to Dr. Farrell after dealing with another pain management doctor that seemed to only want to mask the pain. Dr. Farrell is actually getting to the root of the problem and treating it as it should be treated and helping control my pain. He is extremely knowledgeable and explains anything and everything. He allows for ample time for questions and concerns. What a relief!!

I have and will continue to recommend other people to Dr. Farrell

Dr. Farrell provided excellent care and is a great listener. After reviewing the MRI and x-rays, my orthopedic doctor (who I truly admire and respect) had prescribed an epidural and sent me to Dr. Farrell, saying he was the best. Dr. Farrell found the exact area that was causing me pain and an epidural was not required. He gave me a treatment plan that was easy to follow. My pain level is now zero most of the time! If you have a combination back and sciatica problem that is sometimes so bad that you cannot turn over in bed without assistance and is difficult to treat. Please ask your doctor to send you to Dr. Farrell.

Every time I talked to the staff they are always friendly. It's easy to get appointments. I feel Dr. Farrell is very attentive with me and I have had nothing but good visits at this office.
