Dr. Balaram is fantastic- professional, knowledgeable, and exudes warmth and calmness. He was the first specialist called when I went to urgent care in the Loop to confer and a completely separate doctor in ER, miles away also recommended his practice. I'm confident in his treatment, I can tell I'm quickly on the mend. And, having 2 separate medical locations recommend me confirms he is very regarded by his medical peers. I worry what would have happened if I had not. He's is the BEST.

My experience with Dr Balaram and his staff over the past several years, from the from desk, nurses, the clerical team, the surgical staff and anyone else I might be missing, has been the most pleasant, caring, kind and professional team I have ever had the pleasure of helping me through some very rough times. Dr Balaram performed left shoulder surgery and right hand surgery in 2017 and right shoulder surgery in 2022. I couldn't be happier with the results and the way things turned out. I felt when I when in for surgery or just appointments, that I was the only patient he had for the day. He listened to all my concerns and addressed them in a very professional manner. I would never go anywhere else for my shoulder or hand problems than Hand To Shoulder Associates. I saw this doctor for a second opinion regarding my shoulder. My insurance company sent me for the second opinion. I wasn't happy I had to go, but I guess it was all part of the process. The doctor was very polite and did a thorough exam, the staff at the practice were nice and explained the process to me. it seems like they see a lot of these second opinions. The doctor said good things about my surgeon which was reassuring. All in all seems like a good doctor based on this short experience.

Dr. Balaram took care of a shoulder problem I had after I got injured skiing. I had a rotator cuff repair 7 years ago, and of course I took a fall skiing and tore it again. He is a nice doctor that takes the time to listen. We tried therapy, but it didn't work cause I was still weak in the shoulder. After surgery I saw Dr. Balaram for every visit and he even called me once over the weekend cause my arm was getting numb in the sling and he helped me adjust it. I recommend all my friends to him. There office is always busy, but you won't wait long.

Office was crazy busy, but doctor saw me within 10 minutes of my appointment. took the time to listen to my problem and treated me without surgery. Very nice guy.

Dr. Balaram repaired my shoulder after a skiing accident. He explained everything really well and took the time to make me feel comfortable. His staff is awesome too.

dr. balaram spent time with me in the office to explain my condition, although his office is very busy he took the time to answer all my crazy questions lol. After surgery he saw me for every visit, there are no physician assistants he sees all his own patients before and after surgery and I like that.
