Extraordinary doctor who will take the time to listen to any concerns you might have. Superb visit-side manner. His office is staffed by extremely competent, caring professionals. Highly recommended!

Dr. Varma has been my lifesaver. He has allowed me to live a normal life. Without his help I would be experiencing tremendous pain. I highly recommend him.

Dr.Varma is a tough cookie, very stern but listens to me and cares about my well being. Has hit the nail on the head every time I came in and I didn't feel well . I am great fun for him. Office staff goes above and beyond to accommodate me and my needs. I would refer him to anyone who's looking to get the best treatment.

Wife in pain with lower back arthritis. 4 bulging disks, spinal stenosis, sacrolitis and 3 bedsores after spending 207 days out of the last 233 days in hospitals or rehab centers. Was sent to hospital from rehab with temp of 103. Determined it was uti. Dr Varma immediately reduced pain meds saying they may her too drowsy. I contend it was the untreated infection. After correct antibiotic given she was no longer drowsy but in severe pain which prevents her from doing anything. He refuses to adjust pain meds inspite of the facts. If I could lb. D rate him less than 1 star I would give him a big fat ZERO

As a physician myself, I have obviously worked and trained with many colleagues, which in theory should help me appraise another doctor's skills more easily. On the other hand, when a doctor finds himself treating a colleague, at times this can change the dynamics of this process - not always for the better. In any case, my initial experience with Dr. Varma was extremely positive and helpful. I was optimistic about my visit after speaking with his professional and warm assistant, Mary, who is a pleasure to work with. Then I found his office to be an oasis in an otherwise prosaic stretch of Route 35 - a beautiful and airy space which - at least to my eye - indicates that this professional cares about his surroundings, and is aware of the impact of his office environment on his staff and patients. Finally, I was astonished to find - in this day and age of compressed managed care - that I was not rushed or interrupted, and was allowed to relate my symptoms and full history, which… unfortunately for Dr. Varma was quite convoluted and lengthy He was attentive and entirely focused on my care, with a commitment to not only spelling out his own role in this process, but also ensuring that appropriate complementary specialists were included in my care. He set up a 1-week follow-up, and refrained from ordering a multitude of tests and imaging studies, which might not add much value to my treatment. His exam seemed quite complete and unrushed. He validated all my concerns and offered helpful feedback which was both articulate and astute. Overall, though this was only a first encounter, I would rate Dr. Varma at a high level of professionalism and engagement, a difficult combination to find these days. I highly recommend him.

SINCE I HAVE BEEN SEEING DR. VARMA HE'S MADE ME FEEL LIKE IF ANYTHING WAS BOTHERING ME I WAS TO CALL AND HE WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO EXPLAIN WHAT WAS GOING ON. I WOULD RECOMMEND FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

We've developed a trusting and effective relationship over the past 4 years managing my back pain. This hopefully will continue for many years to come.

I would certainly recommend Dr Varma. We went through my goals in controlling my pain when I first went to see him and we are making progress each month even though its a long hard process.

I was scheduled for a procedure with Dr Varma . I was all set up on table IV nurses etc. Dr Varma was talking to me about the procedure while I was laying there waiting ! . I realized he didn't have a clue what he was doing obviously he came to the same conclusion and it was cancelled , VERY incompetent unknowledgeable 'doctor' wasted my personal time and my ride home who had to take off from work and we both woke up very early to have this done she should of compensated me for MY time!.
