Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:Being able to positively impact other people's lives has been the driving factor for me in choosing medicine. I was particularly interested in physical medicine and rehabilitation because our specialty helps people adjust to changes in their lifestyle. We work as team, with the patient as the center, to maximize function and independence.What I want my patients to know about me:I am originally a Maryland native. I moved to Missouri for undergraduate and medical school and North Carolina for residency. As a physiatrist, my focus is on helping patients achieve the best possible quality of life, being able to return to doing things they love, and allowing them to be as independent as possible.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:When I am not seeing patients, I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog and tackling various DIY projects.
