Dr. Akbar Hussaini, MD

I had needed a “full-knee” replacement for over 10 years. I kept putting it off for years because of anxiety over the pain I had heard about both from the surgery and the physical therapy. But finally my knee got so bad that I knew I had to get it done. I happened to know two people who had their knee replacement surgery done by Dr. Hussaini and raved about him, so I made an appointment. From the very first meeting with Dr. Hussaini and his staff I felt confident that I was going to be well taken care of. At least three of his staff spent most of an hour discussing the condition of my knee, what would be done during the surgery, what would happen immediately after that, as well as what would happen long term. Then the Doctor came in and we talked for a good while. He reassured me that yes, there would be some pain, but that the result truly would more than outweigh the ordeal. I decided to go ahead and get it done. I can now tell you that Dr. Hussaini was absolutely right! Yes,… the first three weeks are definitely an ordeal. And yes, the P.T. is very painful for those first three weeks. But I am now eight weeks past my surgery, and I walk with no pain and without a cane. My experience with the office personnel has been nothing short of wonderful. My calls have been answered and quickly responded to, as have any questions. The nurses at Seton Highland Lakes were great (and the food was actually quite good!). All in all, my experience with Dr. Hussaini has been beyond even my greatest expectations. I would recommend that anyone needing any knee surgery go talk with Dr. Hussaini.

I had hip replacement and shoulder replacement in 2018, every office visit @ procedure was met with friendly and prof staff. Dr. Hussaini explains everything in detail and takes time to listen to my concerns. All concerns and requests were addressed and handled promptly. The quality of care is second to none. I live 80 miles from Burnet and its worth the drive to get this kind of medical expertise.

Dr Hussaini is always considerate and thoughtful. He was very knowledgable about what to do and has won my complete trust. Anyone I know says anything about knee pain I recommend Dr. Hussaini. Thank you for making my life productive again.

How fortunate Seton and the Hill Country are to have Dr. Hussaini and his very capable staff, both front office and medical, to care for us. All the time necessary is taken to discuss a medical condition, medical options, and also palliative care if no surgery is necessary. Both my husband and I are patients and highly recommend this good doctor and his staff. So glad they are at Seton Highland Lakes, which is itself, a great medical facility!!

Without a doubt, today’s visit with Dr. Hussaini and all of his staff was the best experience I’ve ever had with a medical professional. Dr. Hussaini went above and beyond to help out with a pediatric wrist fracture. He stayed until closing to make sure we had all the information we needed to make the best decision medically for our son. This couldn’t have been done without the help of his staff which included a Physicians Asst and a Medical Asst. Both of these medical professionals helped and kept us informed at a level that I’ve never experienced before. It doesn’t get better than this.

I had total hip replacement surgery for My osteoarthritis. He made me feel confident, explained everything in detail and with great personality and humor to make me feel good. He was with me every step of the way, and he was like an angel. His staff is super helpful, and they have Spanish speakers too. I also researched him and found he has double major in specialty and graduated from top medical university and is certified. I love this doctor and if I ever had to operate the other hip I’m coming back.
