Akiva Pesach Novetsky, MD

Akiva Novetsky, MD is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist who specializes in the care of patients with gynecologic malignancies (uterine, ovarian and cervical cancers). He manages all aspects of these patients' care including diagnosis, surgery (focusing on minimally invasive surgical procedures) and chemotherapy.Dr. Novetsky's research focuses on improving the diagnosis and care of patients with cervical cancers and pre-cancers. He is a co-investigator on a NIH moonshot grant to develop new technologies to identify cervical pre-cancers with a focus on developing affordable care for lower middle-income countries. He is passionate about the prevention of cervical cancer and is the President-Elect of the Board of Directors for the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. He previously served as the co-chair of the American Cancer Society National Roundtable on Cervical Cancer Steering Committee (https://www.cervicalroundtable.org/leadership/steering-committee/#8).He …has been an invited speaker throughout the United States and internationally. His expertise has been widely recognized and he serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease, multiple committees for the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Society for Gynecologic Oncology.At Westchester Medical Center, Dr. Novetsky serves as a Chief Medical Informatics Officer focusing on outpatient. He is also the Medical Director of Quality and Safety for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and interim Section Chief for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. He is focused on ensuring that all patients receive the highest quality care.
