Dr. Al Randy Doyle, MD

I saw Dr. Doyle for 12 years and out of the blue he stopped showing up for appointments and shortly after that closed his practice without a word to his patients. He broke his oath. He should have found me a doctor before abandoning me. The worst part is that he had me on a high dose of Klonopin for 12 years and now no doctor will help me and they simply tell me to go to rehab. Why? I never abused my medications once. This doctor has caused me suffering beyond suffering and risked my life by forcing me into a cold turkey withdrawal from benzodiazepines. I filed a complaint with the Illinois board of medicine but, I suppose that is pointless since I found out he can no longer practice medicine. I do appreciate the help I received in the beginning but, what he did to me is extremely inhumane. I feel anyone reading this would never understand unless they were prescribed a benzodiazepine and had it removed suddenly. The medical profession does not want to accept responsibility for… irresponsible prescribing practices so, they pass the buck and label you as an addict even though you are not. This has been going on for two years now and I am still suffering from post acute withdrawal syndrome and the original panic attacks that the medicine treated has returned ten fold. Many times I thought I would go into complete psychosis or commit suicide. If this ever ends it will be a miracle. People, if you take one thing away from this review remember to educate yourself about the medicine a doctor tries to give you before you give your trust away or you could end up like me or the thousands of people who are suffering from the exact situation.

Read your bills! There are tests you never had. The office is run extremely poorly.

Extremely knowledgeable of intricacies of each diagnosis and what medications will be helpful and keeps up with latest research and is caring and honest. His office staff is sweet and helpful, when you can reach them. I have had at least 1/2 hr wait time every time I have been there...I asked for the first morn. appointment and the Dr. was late and they squeezed in an emergency patient before me.
