Ala Shiyab, MD was so amazing during my colonoscopy. He found a rare tumor in my rectum. He removed the tumor and sent me to a surgeon. The Surgeon was perplexed why I was there. Dr Shiayb had successfully removed al of the cancer! God Bless him!

Great Doctor and staff. The majority of my stomach was up in my chest. I had horrible reflux and bad symptoms. Dr. Shiyab was very thorough and kind. He explained the steps, pros and cons of treatment. I am very glad he was my designated surgeon. I had surgery and could have not asked for better results or experience.

He talks to hear himself talk. He is not interested in what the patient has to say, or any questions he/she may have. His bedside manner is terrible. I will be getting a different surgeon.

I met with Dr. Shiyab recently, he was snappy and very rude. Not only did he examine me 1.5 hours after my actual appointment time (which i realize is fairly standard but nonetheless aggravating when the overall experience was poor and i only got about 5 minutes of his time), he was discussing a surgery that I may be having in the near future and he was cold and seemed aggravated to answer questions. He did not even have my ultrasound results pulled up which had been sent from the hospital. Big waste of a copay, and if i end up having the surgery, I will not be letting him operate on me. I suggest seeing one of the other doctors that are in the St. Vincent group.
