Alaa K Hussain, MD

Dr. Alaa Hussain specializes in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism with a focus on pediatric care. She completed her internship at University of Kordofan in 2003, followed by residency training at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in 2015. Dr. Hussain further advanced her expertise through fellowship training at Children's Hospital at Montefiore in 2018. She holds certifications in pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics, earned in 2019, and pediatric endocrinology from the same board in 2021. Dr. Hussain is fluent in both Arabic and English.

Dr. Hussain practices at Hackensack University Medical Center and provides care in Hackensack and Paramus, New Jersey. Her clinical expertise includes treating pediatric obesity and congenital hypothyroidism in young patients. She also manages diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious diabetes complication requiring specialized care.
