Dr. Al'ai Alvarez, MD

Dr. Alvarez never said my name aloud, which was a first for me with any doctor I’ve seen ER or otherwise. Talked over me constantly while I answered his questions and put false info in my mouth (he thought I was using boiling water for a netipot rinse because he had cut me off while I was explaining a boiling water face steaming remedy suggested to me by an express care doc). I had to tell him he wasn’t listening before he suggested starting over & he never apologized or showed remorse (even though I was clearly in distress and shaking). Dr. Alvarez quizzed me on info he’d given me earlier when I had been awake for roughly 18hrs by that point & was highly anxious due to being in the ER. He’d ask me these quiz questions out of nowhere and then not continue our visit until I answered. Never been quizzed by any health provider, ER or otherwise and regardless of whether or not they were accompanied by students.

Uncompassionate, condescending, and arrogant. No empathy whatsoever. Indifferent of people’s pain and suffering. He’s one of those doctors that probably became a doctor maybe because of the prestige or his parents wanted him to be a doctor, not because he genuinely cares about people and really wants them to be healthy and live their best life.
