Dr. Alan Lloyd Beal, MD

Alan Beal, MD, is the Associate Director of Trauma Services and Director of the Trauma/Neuro ICU at North Memorial, where he has served for 18 years. He is also the Surgical Education Director for surgical residents and medical students. Dr. Beal has a clinical special interest in trauma surgery, surgical critical care and acute care surgery, and evaluating and treating complex patients with injuries or surgical problems that also require care in the ICU. Dr. Beal was born and raised in Twin Cities. He received his college degree from St. Olaf College and medical degree from University of Minnesota. He completed a surgical residency at Maine Medical Center and fellowships in critical care in Maine and at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Beal is married and has two adult children, three step children and nine grandchildren. He enjoys staying physically fit, playing golf and spending time with grandchildren's activities.
