Dr. Alan Brown Fortier JR., MD

I made an appointment with Dr. Fortier for my husband, as we were needing a new GP, and I found that he had generally good reviews. My husband has been dealing with side effects from medications, and we were hoping that he would at the very least, suggest some type of routine labwork, maybe an EKG. However, as soon as my husband was done explaining the issue for a second time, Dr. Fortier basically told my husband that the symptoms he was experiencing were all in his "pysche." That the dizziness he felt were break-through panic attacks. I could sense that my husband was getting irritated, but he asked for clarification to make sure that he was understanding, and once again, Dr. Fortier seemed to only talk about how the medicine he was taking "doesn't work like that." At this point my husband looked at me and said that we could go. He did react pretty harshly, but he also disclosed that he was having issues with medication to treat his depression/irritability. If your professional… opinion is that it is all in his head - fine. But it felt like his symptoms and concerns were being dismissed. And it felt awful. I wasn't even sure how to react. I know that a patient getting upset, and saying that he is done with the appointment prematurely is not something that a doctor wants to deal with. However, reaction aside, we just wanted some help. To figure out what he was dealing with. I truly hope that this is not something that happens often, because I would hate for anyone to feel like the person they are going to see for help doesn't really care, which is VERY hard for some people to do.

Dr. Fortier is amazing, he explains everything. His personality is what I love to see in a Dr. He will always be my Dr!

I saw this Doctor because my regular one was out. He was patient and wasn't rushing me to hurry up to get to the next patient.

This doctor prescribed me an antibiotic that I was allergic to and was on file. I had to see another physician because I began experiencing breathing problems. The other physician immediately discovered the problem. When I spoke with the office manager he informed me that Dr. Fortier refused to refund my visit, but would refund my prescription. Be careful who you see.

Dr. Fortier is wonderful with my (at time difficult) teenage son. He has excellent bedside manner.

I would recommend this facility and this doctor. The staff was friendly, curtious,and LISTENED to the patients concerns.

My wife and I both see Dr. Fortier and I try not to see any one else in the clinic. He is very caring and always takes the time to deal with our concerns and questions. Last year he noticed some abnormalities in my lab work and referred me to a urologist. I had prostate cancer and his attention to detail and quick response afforded me options I would not have had otherwise. We now believe I am cured and the cancer gone. He is great.

I was given an appt. w/ Dr. Fortier b/c the last Dr. I saw was off. I was so pleased w/ Dr. Fortier. He answered all my questions and explained all my concerns away. He really took time w/ me. Even entered his lunch time but never rushed. Talked to me about different options and helped me choose the right one. I was comfortable and felt the liberty to discuss my issues. I'm sorry but the last Dr. I saw there had her back turned to me most of time. I will def. continue to see Dr. Fortier for all my general medical needs!
