Alan Goldstein, DMD
Born and raised in the Bronx, Dr. Goldstein graduated from the prestigious Stuyvesant High School (1960) and the City College of New York (1964). He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (1968). He served as a dentist in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970.
He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and is a well known lecturer and author within the field of cosmetic and laser dentistry. Dr. Goldstein has also been a frequent contributor to dental publications such as Dentistry Today and presently serves on their Dental Advisory Board. He is the former editor of Wavelengths, the quarterly publication of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and has served in all of the Academy’s executive positions.
His knowledge and opinions, unfettered by commercial ties, have often been sought by the media and he has been quoted in many publications including The New York Times Magazine and New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and The New York …Times. He has consulted with and appeared on major network television shows relating to cosmetic dentistry and lasers, including an appearance on The Phil Donahue Show in 1993 featuring “Lasers in Medicine and Dentistry.”
Dr. Goldstein was a principal investigator in a hard tissue (teeth) study for Continuum Biomedical that led to the FDA clearance for that laser. He also contributed to “Lasers in Dentistry” published by Quintessence.
