I called for Dr. Hess because I was asking around of other doctors. We are new to Morgantown and need to establish a new doctor, after 30 years with our old doctor. Dr. Hess was recommended and is rated highly on Vitals.com and others. The person who answered said that He was not taking any new patients, even though Vitals.com says he is. I asked for her to recommend someone else and she said another doctor in the same office was taking new patients. I asked if I needed to do anything to establish her as my new doctor, and she said I would have to make an appointment. I asked how much and she said, "you do not have insurance?" I said no; that I was self-pay. She said the establishing appointment would be $250 or more. I think that is a mistake, but it seems I have no other option. I just had a doctor's appointment with a surgeon and that office visit (referral) was only $50, which is much more in line with what I expected. Please let me know if this is a mistake! I… can't spend $250 to come in and fill out forms just to make sure I can make an appointment in the future.

I would recomend Dr Hess. He is personable. You can talk to him. He listens to you, and truly wants to help you. He takes care of most of my family. He is just a great guy.
