Dr. Alan Lee Hiti, MD

Dr. Hiti's contributions to the education, research and practice of medicine have been profound. One crucial example of his commitment includes upholding Dr. Hugh Edmondson's legacy by providing an opportunity for area students to have exposure to laboratory medicine. Dr. Edmondson first funded this summer fellowship program in 1969 as a way of providing an experience for young people that they may never have had otherwise. Dr. Hiti's commitment to the Edmondson Summer Fellowship, as its current program director, maintains that Los Angeles high school students will continue to have this valuable opportunity and perhaps find inspiration in a future career in the medical/health profession. Dr. Hiti's other academic and administrative responsibilities include lecturing first-year medical students in hematology and clinical immunology and serving as Director of the USC Clinical Laboratories Group. , Dr. Hiti is an accomplished author and researcher, having been awarded numerous research …grants and contracts.
