Dr. Jacobs listened as I described my symptoms and then accurately diagnosed my problem.

He abandoned his patients. We were not informed he was leaving the Dayton area and the state until AFTER he had left his practice. I'm very disappointed in this unprofessional behavior; that's a basis of lawsuits. Wait time in his wait room was usually over 3 hours.

With 40 plus years of experience I prefer Dr Alan Jacobs. He has always come up medications that really helped. On my first visit he spent an hour with me to get an accurate history. I always call ahead to see how far behind he is and we adjust the appointment time accordingly. Is he perfect? No, of course not but who is? He has a personal interest in neurological diseases because his parents died from Parkinson's and he's always up on the latest innovation. The positives far outweigh the negatives.

I have been a patient for many years. A longer time spent in the waiting room is a small price to pay for the exceptional care and consideration I receive from Dr. J. and his staff. I have NEVER been made to feel like I am just another patient to be quickly ushered in and out. Yes, Dr. J has made a difference in my life.....

Ridiculous wait times. Every single visit it never fails that I wait for over an hour in the waiting room and nearly 45 mins in the exam room. Last time it was due to a pharm rep bringing in lunch to the staff! They were all partying while I sat and waited. Will be looking for another neuro! Exams rooms are dirty and office staff has no personalities.

Came in at 1:00 am to make rounds and see me in the hospital!!! Then got very nasty with me and told me to go home!! I had a sleeping pill earlier and he had the nerve to discharge me from the hospital at 2:00 am!!! Totally misdiagnosed me! Told other Drs it was all up in my head and there was nothing wrong with me!! Come to find out I have a serious nervous system disorder and have been to the Mayo Clinic several times for it! Very bad experience with him!!!

After testing, I was given a diagnosis of temporal lobe seizures and put on an anti-seizure medication. At a follow-up appointment, while going through my chart, Dr. Jacobs made the comment that everything looked good and that the tests showed no seizure activity so he felt that I did not need another immediate appointment. When I asked why he had put me on the anti-seizure medication if there was no seizure activity, he denied telling me that I had a seizure condition and said the medication was for a different reason but would not tell me what. My wait time in the waiting room was always at least 2 hours but usually more. Once I was called back to the examination/treatment room, the wait time was at least an hour. An appointment with Dr. Jacobs always took at least 3 - 4 hours. He has no respect for his patient's time. When I started seeing a different neurologist, I signed a release for my records to be sent to the new doctor's office. I had to send a check to Dr. Jacob's office… before they would fax the records. This seemed somewhat outrageous because faxing the records did not cost them anything. I had to pay them $12.00+ to fax 7 pages. If anyone were to ask for my recommendation for a neurologist, Dr. Jacobs would be the last doctor I would recommend. Other people might disagree with me, but this is a true and accurate accounting of my experience with him and my opinion.
