Dr. Alan Kouzmanoff, MD

When I was a patient of Dr. Kouzmanoff, I was struggling with symptoms of Ménière’s disease. But I had no diagnosis, and was struggling to understand what these strange episodes were. They turned out to be vertigo episodes of course, but there was no one to explain this to me at the time. I tried to explain the nature of these episodes to Dr. Kouzmanoff as best I could. He first diagnosed them as mood swings, and then later diagnosed them as dissociative disorder. I informed him that these episodes were often triggered by head or eye movement. When I tried to move my head and eyes in the relevant manner in his office, in the hopes of triggering an episode right in front of him, he just sat there and rolled his eyes as though he were in the presence of a lunatic. He then informed me that I was exhibiting every symptom of hypochondriasis. Given Dr. Kouzmanoff’s repeated failure to correctly identify vertigo, I consider him to be incompetent. I do not understand how he can be practicing… psychiatry.

I left a message for him at 3pm asking for an appointment. Instead of calling me back he texts me at midnight “I am not accepting new patients”. that’s it. no referral just a curt hostile text message at midnight. He doesn’t care about the well-being of anybody else that he feels it appropriate to text me that late not knowing the state I’m in with a pessimistic hopeless message. I’m glad he’s not willing to see me. His behavior proves he’s a terrible doctor

He is not only an excellent doctor, but a wonderful human being, and always there for me in emergencies.

I entered treatment with Dr. Kouzmanoff many years ago. I credit him with helping me save my life.

I have been seeing Dr. Kouzmanoff for some time. He has worked with me through some extremely difficult times. He is empathetic and brings some excellent insight into our sessions. Lastly, he is not afraid to remind me of what really happened when I try to move towards "revisionism" of the past events, because again, I have been working with him for some time. He is a consummate professional and is there and willing to work with you. I highly, highly recommend him.
