Dr. Alan Harvey Mallace, MD

How many more people is it going to take? Why are you practicing Dr. Mallace. For the 1 in 10 that thinks you're a Rock Star? For that ONE person who is blinded by your fake smile and inability to see someone's pain anymore? Are you blinded by your need to make money instead of relieve people's pain? You run people through a battery of tests to make them prove to you they are in pain only to have your rude nurse call them with results so you no longer have to deal with them anymore. Dismissive. Arrogant. Cruel. I have left your practice for a doctor

I came in and described my rapidly progressing symptoms. Cannot unbend joints that have been bent long periods. Hand and wrist can’t bear weight, losing fine motor control, cannot I curl my hand out if the literal claw it turns into at night. Excruciating pain unbending my knee in my sleep. Gave him the name of my condition. Described how in a matter of months I went from being able to carry groceries to light weight items literary just falling out of my hands. He took a bunch of blood. Two weeks later I’m called and informed it was my skin. See a dermatologist. It’s not my skin. My disease CAN affect skin but it is obviously not affecting mine. You can SEE it is not affecting my skin. What an absolute waste of my time. I am rapidly deteriorating. I cannot believe he would do this to me. This is my life! My dominant hand! My ability to stand up! Wash my hair! Hold a pencil, hold a hand. My results were late and I waited just to let my condition worsen.

Dr. Mallace has lost his compassion somewhere along the way. I don't think he understands that his callousness has an impact upon the people he treats. I implore you, Dr. Mallace, to either retire or find the kindness that you lost. The years have made you more detached than you know and it certainly shows. The people you treat are suffering; please remember that. You have forgotten your Hippocratic Oath to DO NO HARM. Shame on you.

He was the exact kind of doctor I didn’t want! Won’t answer all of your questions and tried to push meds and not talk to me about my poor health. I felt like it was a bother for me to be there and I was to weak to do labs right then so he said I can’t help you, in a nasty way! What a horrible place and doctor. Awful experience and wasted months of my time trying to get in. Will look for a nice young doctor with a little compassion who will discuss what going on with me not treat me horribly and push me out the door.

I waited for 3 months for a new patient appointment with him to have him sit with me for about 5 minutes and play off the life ruining symptoms that I’ve been having like they’re a joke, smiling the entire time. Maybe because I’m young. I was told to take blood tests and I’d be contacted when the results came in - I never was. After calling in I was told to take more blood tests and they’d call me back. They never did. When I called in weeks later they told me that in his professional opinion there was no more they could do for me based off of the results. I eventually got a hold of the actual results of the tests he had me take, and he didn’t even test for any markers of diseases that can have the symptoms I’m experiencing, but instead IBS, Arthritis, and Liver Disease, which I have no symptoms of whatsoever, as well as tests that I already had taken and brought to him on paper. A huge waste of time for my progressing issues.

I have been to see him four times thinking I would give him a chance. After all, lots of people like him. However I have to agree with the disent. Less than five minutes spent with me each time. No exam. Doesn't hear your concerns, just says he thinks the medication is working, come back in three months. Due to moves, I have had three Rheumatologists, never had I had one more non attentive

I HAVE FOLLOWED DR. MALLACE FOR ABOUT 12 YEARS. HE IS A GREAT AND CARING DOCTOR.

It's very unfortunate that you have to actually rate at least one star for Dr. Mallace.... He doesn't even deserve that. He spent about 10 minutes with me. He has zero bedside manner, zero patience and wasn't interested in what I had researched online (guess some doctors feel threatened by the information that's out there). He did a five minute assessment and prescribed a drug which I told him I had a bad reaction to a while ago. His response ''Well, if you want to get better this is what you have to take'''. Sorry, I don't buy that - he barely spent enough time with me to make a diagnosis of my condition. Guess that's why they call it PRACTICING medicine.....This guy needs a lot more practice and a lesson in human kindness.

He is an older MD with alot of experience. When I was sick he reviewed my case and called me at home. Some time Rheumatology is tricky. Not everything is in the text book. He does listen his Medical Assistants are good. He has changed practices so he does not have control of the office staff but I have noticed his new office staff in glendale and scottsdale are getting used to his clients. Rheumatology is a tough field to diagnose and treat and to then get approval for expensive treatments for the patients. Insurance requires you to fail through the older drugs in order to get the new better expensive ones. It is not the MD's fault. Welcome to Obama care.

BEST Rheumatologist in Arizona !!! So happy to have him after seeing 3 terrible ones since I moved to AZ :)
