With 17 years of experience, Dr. Markowitz utilizes the most advanced techniques and materials available. You can rest assure that with Dr. Markowitz, and his staff by his side, you truly are in good hands.
Dr. Markowitz attended Dental School at The Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his post dental training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and Kings County Hospital Center.
He received his implant surgical training at the University of Miami’s Implant Dentistry Program. He has continued his dental education at the prestigious Rosenthal Institute and Aesthetic Advantage, Inc.

When you’re with Fran this is your time to talk it all out.
Dr. Markowitz will provide Fran with notes from his examination; you and she will turn this into a treatment plan, a schedule of care that will best meet all of your needs. Fran is our “go to” person at Great Boca Smiles.
Dr. Markowitz offers a variety of financially creative solutions to affordable dental care. Just ask Fran! Fran has been the Operations manager for our team since 2000.
Fran brings 25 years of dental experience to the front office. Fran attended Queens College in New York and has done many of the continuing education classes with Dr. Markowitz.  Fran’s knowledge of finance, insurance and treatment planning makes beautiful smiles happen for many of our patients.
Leigh D’Avanzo

Leigh first worked with Dr. Markowitz as a chair side assistant back in 1996 and being the first and orginal memeber Great Boca Smiles  team from the day they opened..
Then, in 2000, she went back to school to get her degree in hygiene. She graduated from PBCC in 2006 and received her Associates in Science degree.
Shortly after that, she came back to Dr. Markowitz as his hygienist. And since then, she has won the hearts of all our patients and the whole staff. Leigh has 3 kids and enjoys boating and being with her family.Believes the first step in cure is prevention through education.
A dental hygienist of considerable experience when asked how she sees her role with Great Boca Smiles she said “while working with a patient I am always making observations about not only the condition of their teeth but also their gum tissues. I'm always watching for signs to alert Dr. Markowitz to areas of concern knowing that being proactive is insures good dental health”.
