Dr. Alan Boyer Mcdaniel, MD

I have had thyroid disease for 20 years and I can tell you Dr. McDaniels is the only doctor I ever had that understood the disease from the patients perspective. He regulated my disease as well as discover my vitamin D deficiency.

He is widely recognized as one of the top specialists in his field nationally and understands endocrinology, metabolic issues and gut-related issues better than any doctor I have come across, and I have been going to him since 2005. His work is ground-breaking and he gets results. He treats the underlying issues and not the symptoms, which is a paradox in our overall medical approach. Dr. McDaniel has the ability to see medical problems within a bigger picture without overlooking the finer details of causality at a functional level. Hands down, he is the best doctor I have ever come across.

I disagree emphatically with the patient who said he knows nothing about endocrinology. I was his patient from the time I moved to Louisville in 1992 until he closed his practice on State St. in New Albany to move to CA. I had CFIDS for all my adult life, and was despairing of finding a doctor who knew anything about treating it. He got me onto a regimen that did not cure it (nothing does!) but helped me to live a reasonably rewarding life. He LISTENS, is compassionate and caring and very knowledgeable. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

He is a nut. Don't go to this doctor.
