Dr. Alan M Meltzer, DDS

I am a (now retired) physician who has received care from Dr. Meltzer for almost 20 years. His office is one of the best organized and most professionally run I have encountered. Dr. Meltzer himself is knowledgeable and current in his field. I have received several implants and procedures over the years and find him to be an excellent surgeon.

My experience was much better than I expected. Having to have several implants, I thought I would be in alot of pain and discomforted. It was so minimal, I couldnt have been more pleased. The entire staff was wonderful and easy to work with. They definitely made the whole experience as easy as possible

He was a fair periodontist. More interested in my money than my teeth. Under his care I always had abscesses. Spent thousands of dollars over the years. His confidence far surpassed his abilities. The final insult - I get my next my next abscess and need treatment. I going to him for years, spent 10,000.00 give or take. He charges me his regular fee for the treatment (which was fine), then adds an emergency visit surcharge. I'm astounded. An emergency visit surcharge. I've been a patient for years and he has the audacity to charge me an emergency visit surcharge. Even after explaining how outraged I was about this charge, his poor Judgement, overestimation of his ability and importance and his pervasive greed reaffirmed the emergency visit surcharge. That was my last visit. I have never had another abscess since leaving this mediocre dentist.

Dear patient consider twice before investing money in this dentist. With Dr. Meltzer I had one implant to insert. After insertion of implant by Meltzer on X-ray I noticed approx. 4-5 mm round metal object inserted next to implant. I freaked out seeing it. As a patient always ask dentist before inserting implant how bone augmentation will be done with details. In my case he inserted metal TAC to support implant. Metal TAC was causing excruciating pain and was removed surgically. Later implant was removed too. I asked Dr. Meltler to reimburse financially. His fee much, much higher than others. His answer was that he will re-do and do right this time. He inserted implant a second time. Implant has failed again because of not enough bone and gums. I damaged bone, gums, lost lots of money, time, trust. Go with dentist who gives verbal explanation how bone augmentation will be done. Bone and gums are very important for implant.
