Dr. Alan Nix
Dr. Alan Nix, a native of Dallas, Texas, graduated from the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio in 1979. Upon graduation, he trained in a pediatric dental practice in Sherman, Texas for one year. Following that, Dr. Nix purchased a small private practice in Terrell, Texas, a town of 15,000, 25 miles east of Dallas. He has performed general dentistry for more than 30 years as a solo practitioner.
Dr. Nix and his wife Patricia, a kindergarten teacher, have been married for over 35 years and reside in Terrell. They have six children, Margaret, Spencer, Sam, Stuart, Stephen and Stanford, and two grandchild, Will and Jane. They are the delight of his life. When asked what hobbies he enjoys, Dr. Nix laughingly replies "Who has time for hobbies!" He does enjoy participating in Boy Scouts with his sons, attending all their many sporting events, swimming, skiing, and jogging.
Years of experience has taught Dr. Nix that the only way to run a dental practice is to be …honest and fair and to treat each patient as if they were a family member. He knows that three things prevent patients from seeing their dentist -- money, fear, and time. By offering financing to make dentistry affordable, using sedation, nitrous oxide, and gentle techniques to calm fears, and flexible hours to accommodate most schedules, he has made dentistry less stressful for the patient.
A friendly, caring staff is also an important part of Dr. Nix's practice. Their goal is to perform the highest quality dentistry with gentle, caring techniques, in a warm and friendly environment.
Celebrating more than 30 years in practice, Dr. Nix would like to thank the 30,000 patients he has seen in his career. He says "I'm about to get the hang of it now!"
