Dr. Alan N Schulman, MD

I saw Dr. Schulman yesterday. I have been a patient of his for more than 30 years and I can honestly say he is the most amazing doctor I have ever dealt with. He is brilliant, kind, compassionate, concerned, and won't stop until a patient is well. I've truly never met a doctor quite like him.

Had my doubts but he was great.

A lot of free parking space there, Dr. Schulman is one of the greatest GI doctors I've had in my life. He is very patient and helpful. He followed up our test results and updated the test reports in the portal system in a timely manner.

I have been seeing Dr. Schulman for over 35 years. he is an OUTSTANDING doctor. He is an especially great diagnostician . i have had gastrointestinal difficulties over a good deal of my life and being referred to Dr. Schulman is one of the best things that has happened to me.

Dr. Schulman is an Outstanding Gastroenterologist Dr. Schulman is outstanding and extremely well-informed (his medical knowledge has always been grounded in current, state-of-the-art research findings). Over the past 20 years Dr. Schulman has served as the gastroenterologist for me, my wife, and my daughter. He is a very caring and empathic individual, and very thorough in considering all medical diagnostic possibilities. He provides lots of time to discuss and help us understand our healthcare options and to answer our many questions. He respects our views about limiting use of medical drugs and their side effects. He gives clear medical instructions which not only make sense to us but we trust and follow. Dr. Schulman always phones us personally to report biopsy results, to check in with us, and to follow-up about any requisite treatments. The staff, especially Jennifer Benson, is extremely helpful and friendly. Wait times are short (weâ??ve never had to sit in the… waiting room for any prolonged period of time). We highly recommend Dr. Schulman to family and friends without any reservation.

Dr. Schulman has been my gastroenterologist for almost 30 years and has seen me through many difficult medical situations. I have found him to be kind, sympathetic, thorough, and a brilliant and tireless researcher when faced with medical challenges. He spends a lot of time discussing my options and respects my feelings regarding medications and side-effects. When diagnosed with another medical condition, he researched it on his own time as it was a very rare auto-immune disease and he wanted to understand the implications that it might have with Crohns Disease. I highly recommend him to friends and family.

I had my very first endoscopy+colonoscopy with Dr. Alan Schulman. I was his first patient that morning and he came in late. He rushed over to my chart and did not even make eye contact with me prior to putting me under anesthesia. Upon returning home after the procedure, I blacked-out 3 times and vomited 1-pint of bright red blood. Together, my husband & I called his office a total of 4 times to request that Dr. Schulman call us back. The receptionist and the nurse seemed both bothered and annoyed by our calls. Dr. Schulman never called us back. Finally, I had to go the Emergency Room by ambulance. Apparently, the cause of the vomiting of blood was due to internal bleeding. The internal bleeding was caused by Dr. Schulman injuring the wall of my stomach during the endoscopy. Due to my significant blood loss, I had to be admitted into the hospital. And even in the hospital, Dr. Schulman never once called me back and never came to see me! Fortunately, I have an outstanding… internist who admitted me and oversaw my condition. Due to the blood loss, I ended up with an unwanted blood transfusion. Dr. Schulman is the worst doctor I have ever seen in my life, and I have seen many! He comes across as charming but he is actually the most uncaring and callous doctor I have ever met.
