Dr. Alan Jay Sherman, MD

Providence is poorly run. 15 minute time limit per patient?! Wait times are out of control. Front office staff is often incompetent. Not Dr. Sherman's fault

I went with my elderly parents to Dr. Sherman. He is so disrespectful and not courteous at all to them. He doesn't talk to you, instead he stares at his laptop and types the entire time. He mumbles and therefore my parents who are hard of hearing can not understand a word he says. He does not want your input at all as to your individual healthcare option. The office is a complete mess with patients medical files laying on top of the counter that surrounds the area. Does not return calls and does not call in prescriptions in a timely manner. I have convinced my parents to change physicians. This one is a farce.

Waits are typical for a Dr.'s office, staff is courteous. However, I have never had a disrespectful and unprofessional physician before, until now. Not only is trying to get a prescription refilled a nightmare at this office, but good luck on trying to get Dr. Sherman to return a call about a prescription he "forgot" to write and send in. What I will not stand for is the snide remarks that came from his mouth when asked about a treatment for a very personal issue. I was shocked that a doctor would not read a medical survey that your office requires patients to spend time filling out. Nor did he take the time to listen to the problems during the visit. His bedside manor is lacking in every way. I would not recommend seeing this doctor. Needless to say, I will be taking my family and insurance elsewhere from now on.

Dr. Sherman is a very "Thorough" Physician therefore, he does not look @ his watch between patients as most do. Can allowance be made on the schedule due to this? Sure, a good office manager would evaluate this on a regular basis. Don't judge the Physician for anothers error in judgement. People complain because they pay X amount of dollars for a 5 min. visit or because it was too long of a visit. What is it going to be people? Geez. I would take 100 of Dr. Alan Shermans over most I have come across in my time.
