Dr. Alan Shiffrin, MD

Dr. Alan Shiffrin graduated from medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, did internal medicine at University of Michigan, and psychiatry residency at the University of Colorado Medical Center, where he was chief resident in psychiatry. He has held numerous clinical faculty positions while there. He has been retired from psychiatry after 38 years and has worked with Actify since 2016. While in practice, he was a member of a group of psychiatrists who treated the treatment failures of other psychiatrists with aggressive pharmacology approaches. Understanding of the limitations of antidepressant medications, he became very interested in the rapid amelioration of depressive symptomatology with ketamine. He is grateful to have the opportunity to work in this setting.
