Dr. Alan Glenn Stern, MD

One of the most caring Doctors I've had the privilege of working with. We were a team on a path to my improved health.

Dr. Stern was the the most amazing and best Rheumatologist that I have ever been to. He actually seem to care about his patients and their conditions. He always took his time explaining what my lab counts were and how he was going to manage my condition. He just seemed to vanish from his practice and his old practice will not tell the patients were he went to. I can not find a new Rheumatologist that actually cares and is knowledgeable. Every one that I have seen since Dr. Stern has left has been condescending and rude. I so miss Dr. Stern. He was the absolute best.

Unfortunately Dr. Stern has disappeared and none of us patients have a clue what has happened. He was wonderful, knowledgeable, and helped us that really needed help. The new doctors in the group refuse to treat us for what Dr. Stearns diagnosed us with. This man treated me for six years and now I can't find a doctor willing to treat me closer to my home. It's very unfair us patients built a trusting relationship with him yet we all know absolutely nothing about why he disappeared !!! Dr. Sterns believed in fibromyalgia for we do suffer greatly with this disease. Yet no other doctors believe fibromyalgia is a disease nor will treat us for it. I want Dr. Sterns back ! I want answers ! I want to be treated as a valued patient ! I never took the pain meds I didn't even get them filled. One 30 day supply of pain meds would last me three months. I hate drug abusers they make it hard for us that really do need the help. Fibromyalgia is a recognised disease doctors can't pick and… choose what's a real disease and what is not !!! I feel shunned, I feel abandoned, and very disappointed in the medical field !!!

Dr. Stern has very kind manners, excellent care , The best of the best... highly recommended very knowledgeable Doctor.

Doesn't oversubsribe medications. Listens to what you say. Sincerely cares to improve your life without over-dosing you with medications. Is impressive.

I started seeing Dr. Stern when he opened his pracrice. He and his staff have always been wonderful to me. I have always been able to get in to see him if I have an urgent need. He always returns my calls and he has called and talked to me himself.I will not hesitate to recomend him to anyone and I have.

Had pain & numbness in left leg that no other doctor would have checked. He sent me for artery test & may have saved my life. I have PAD with no blood circulation in my big toe & minimal in next 3 toes. Moving forward with another visit this coming week.

I have been seeing Dr. Alan Stern for the past 18 months and during this time he has shown me what a truly AMAZING Physician he is. His knowledge, caring attitude and desire to help is over the top. As long as Dr. Stern is in practice in RVA I will NOT see another in this field (have seen 3 others in 20 years, until I was fortunate enough to get in with Dr. Stern). It may take a few months to get in to see him, but Dr. Stern is WORTH THE WAIT!!!!!

Exceptional care, Dr. Stern is extremely knowledgeable & caring. Appointments are on time, very thorough and never feel like being rushed.

Dr. Alan Stern is a very caring, knowledgeable doctor with a good bedside manner. However, his staff, especially the patient service representatives are very rude!! I would not recommend Dr. Alan Stern based solely on his rude staff.
