Dr. Alan Nils Swartz, MD

I am very surprised at the high ratings of this doctor! I visited this doctor for the first time today and left feeling belittled and criticized. I have chosen to vaccinate my child with wider gaps than suggested. And although my child has had most vaccines, I question why my child or anybody needs any trace of formaldehyde or aluminum or mercury in their body? I am cautious and I do not run to get them simply because a doctor suggests it. When we went in today, Dr. Swartz saw that he was needing a vaccine and quickly said that we would get it done today. I told him that we would not get it done and that I will need more time to look into that vaccine. He instantly scoffed at me as though I knew nothing and was very belittling in his demeanor towards why I choose to wait. He did this in front of 2 students and a nurse practitioner that were surprisingly part of our first visit - thanks for the heads up! Needless to say, the whole visit felt very unprofessional and when leaving… the doors I kept thinking of a quote that summed up the whole experience for me: "...people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. " ... I am 43 years old. Don't talk to me as though I have not lived and learned anything in life! I personally have a close friend that has a 5 year old child that got their last vaccine that was "mandatory" for their child to have for their school and the child instantly went into seizures and rushed to a hospital. This child had no previous issues with any vaccines - just like my child. Yes, the internet is full of garbage but not all stories are untrue. Learn how to talk to people Dr.Swartz! And if someone disagrees with you, perhaps you can ask someone about their beliefs instead of scoffing at them.

During the late 70s and early 80s,both of my children, Tony and Tanya , were his patients. A very loving, caring man to all three of us. He and his wife took my son on a ski vacation, as my husband was in Korea, and the boy needed a father figure. Donna K.

My children are now adults but were cared for by Dr. Swartz from infancy until they were past 21 and their insurance would not allow them to see a pediatrician.

He sees patients as cash cows. Is more interested in belittling a mother's worries than being helpful. He was upset that I wouldn't take my kid to see him for shots and instead I take him to the health department. The staff is difficult and rude. The reason I will not take my kid to get shots at this office is because the nurses do not update the shot records. And now I will not be returning at all because he was so unprofessional. I could overlook bad staff, and long wait times but not a grumpy, and rude doctor.

Dr Swartz has been the ped for my 3 daughters, the oldest being now 29 years old. Very caring and truly cares for his patients. My youngest is now 18 and she wants to remain seeing Dr Swartz but I don't think it can be possible.

Dr. Swartz was my pediatrician from the time I was 6 years old. He also treated my siblings, one of which had an accident when he was 16 years old and is now incapacitated. Eventhough my brother is over the age of 18, he continues to see my brother because he has his entire medical history. I now have two kids (8 y.o. and 1 y.o.) who are both Dr. Swartz patients. Dr. Swartz is very caring and a great doctor in general. I trust him 100%. His office staff are always friendly and helpful.

Dr. Swartz was recommended to me by a friend when my daughter was first born, almost 12 years ago. I have always had great experience with him. The office staff is always very friendly and he is always very caring and spend the amount of time you need for questions. I would recommended Dr Swartz to any one with kids.

You can tell Dr. Swartz cares more about the health and well being of his patients than the money. He gives more than medical advice to parents of newborns. Helps parents to learn how to deal with the everyday stress of raising a child.
