Dr. Alan Tom, MD

Dr. Alan Tom is a board-eligible plastic surgeon at Amelia Aesthetics in St. Louis, where he specializes in aesthetic breast and body plastic surgery. With a strong foundation in cosmetic procedures, general surgery, and surgical critical care, Dr. Tom brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to every patient experience. Dr. Tom completed his plastic surgery fellowship at Indiana University in Indianapolis, where he also served as Chief Resident, gaining advanced training in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.Prior to specializing in plastic surgery, he completed a full general surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan, where he was selected as Chief Resident. During this time, he also pursued additional fellowship training in surgical critical care, further strengthening his ability to manage …complex surgical cases and provide comprehensive patient care.

He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine and graduated magna cum laude from Wabash College with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics.

Dr. Tom’s training spans a wide range of surgical disciplines, including general surgery, critical care, and plastic surgery. This breadth of experience allows him to approach each procedure with a deep understanding of both aesthetics and overall patient health.

He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, reflecting his strong clinical foundation and commitment to excellence in patient care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Tom enjoys spending time with his family as a husband and father. He also enjoys chess, weightlifting, snowmobiling, and exploring his love for coffee.
