Meet Dr. Alan TorreyDr. Torrey was born and raised in Vicksburg, MS where he graduated from Warren Central High School. He attended college at Louisiana Tech University where he graduated with honors with a bachelor's degree in Biology and a master's degree in Molecular Biology. Dr. Torrey then returned to Vicksburg working at US Army Corps of Engineers- ERDC as a researcher and then started medical school at University of Mississippi Medical Center. After graduation in 2010, Dr. Torrey went of to complete his residency training in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management. HIs time at UMMC was highlighted with several honor societies and professional organizations. He currently is very involved in several pain medical organizations, is a voting delegate for MSMA, and sits of the DUR board appointed by Gov. Bryant. Dr Torrey is an excellent Pain Management physician, however, you are only as good as those working with and for you. His receptionist is WONDERFUL, nurse okay, but Nurse Practitioner Amy has a very undesirable bedside manner. She is not friendly and has a cold and dismissive attitude. I have no idea of how knowledgeable she may or may not be because whenever I've expressed to her my pain level and where I'm hurting, her reply had only been, 'I'm going to call your refills in and I'll see you in # months... Passionate? Knowledgeable? Concerned?... NOT! I'm done... Would rather drive an hour to see someone who cares because when you're in pain, the last thing you want is an attitude from your doctor.

I went to Torrey for pain management. Requested for him to seek a pain management solution that doesn’t utilize long term use of heavy narcotics that would worsten my quality of life. He said he would do a remotely controlled spinal implant. When I declined he threw his hands up and he wouldn’t do anything else. After investigation, I found that before the summer of this year was over he had already accepted over $3000 in subsidies from drug and implant manufacturers. The whole experience was blanketed in careless arrogance.

I have been to numerous drs for my chronic neck pain.No one would touch me because of multiple surgeries and scar tissue. Dr.T came up with a plan and said he would try and he is.

He's very compassionate, caring and does excellent work!!! I'm very cautious about who I trust my health care with and I feel very confident with him because he is the best and never makes me feel uncomfortable!!! I highly recommend him!!!
