Dr. Alan Paul Venook, MD

Alan Venook is a major reason why I am alive today. When first diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, I was quickly given a terminal label. Upon pushing for the best second opinion possible, I was referred to Dr Venook. He was able to see some atypical (good) things in my cancer manifestation. These things gave him and us cause for hope. Dr Venook pushed for aggressive chemotherapy and when we saw remarkable results, he pushed for a hemicolectomy to remove affected tissue that would never again be normal. I am here two years later living a normal life. Alan Venook is a major reason for that. Anyone criticizing his bedside manner or attention to detail flies 100% against my 12+ personal interactions with him.

Dr. Venook is a poor bedside manner doctor. Not sure why he’s practicing, he seems to only care about billing. He’s awkward, gross and creepy. He seems out of it most of the time and uncompassionate about patient care.

He is heartless and should not be practicing

Dr. Venook is too busy to see patients. Do not choose him as your oncologist if you expect reasonably good medical care.

Dr. Venook, did not tell me the risks of an operation that he performed that is irreversible. Upon inquiry He wrote me, "Frankly weather my advise was good or bad I don't remember and am too busy to engage.". Obviously he does not remember the Hippocratic oath either.

The first time I went to see Dr. Venook, there was a missunderstanding about the appointment date-I was told, I was a week earlier. Although I had driven a long way to get there-55mi. and asked for only 5min. I was turned away. The second time, I waited from 10:30 until 1:00PM.-No doctor! I was asked to make another appointment, if I did not want to wait, which did not go very well by me, since I had driven again 55mi and crossed 2 bridges to get to SF.. I was seen for about 5 min.
