I am not sure words can adequately express what an excellent experience I had in dealing with Dr. Winston. At every step through my somewhat complicated situation, he was communicative, compassionate and professional...and he always had an encouraging word and a smile. I got all of the time and information I needed from him to feel confident about the procedure that was recommended for me. After helping me to navigate through an insurance snag, he then performed successful thoracic surgery to remove a large tumor from my chest. Following, he and his amazing support team at Northside Gwinnett's Cardio ICU provided me with fantastic care and gave me all the information and instruction I needed for a quick recovery. At my follow-up visit with Dr. Winston four weeks later, he was genuinely excited about how well I had handled the surgery and how fast and fully I had recovered from it. He and his team deserve all of the credit!

Dr. Winston is a wonderful caring doctor. He assured me I would do fine. He replaced my aorta heart valve and repaired the thoracic aneurysm on my aorta. 8 weeks later I am back at work and doing cardio rehab three days/week. We are very fortunate to have him and his staff in Gainesville. I would recommend him to everyone who needs heart surgery.

No one told me what to expect. I never saw Dr. Winston after my surgery I saw a very young assistant at my four week check up.No one told me what to expect after surgery or what my recovery time would be. One artery collapsed shortly after surgery. I had over 95% blockage in a carotid artery that I was not told about. I think Dr. Winston is more concerned about quantity than quality. Thank God for my doctors at St.Joseph-Emory. Robert Stallings

I am very grateful the good lord has given Dr. Winston steady hands to perform open heart surgery on my chest. Although, I was very nervous at the age of 36 to have my heart repair due to a congenital defect that was later diagnosed later in life. I am surprised that I am alive today due to the size of my atrial septal defect 2.2 cm x 2.2 cm.
