Dr. Alan Joseph Wood, DDS

A different dentist really messed up my teeth when they fixing my first cavity at 30 years old (in mid 1990's). I picked Dr Wood's practice because it was close to were I lived. I am soooo happy I found him! He took one look at my bad repair and winced. He asked about what went on, but didn't talk badly about what was done. He just said how he'd fix the bad work. I knew what I had was bad because I had to go back to that bad dentist FIVE times. The final straw was the senior dentist at that bad practice looked at me and asking me why some decisions were made. That senior dentist would not succeed at poker because she looked horrified at what she was seeing!!! I never went back to that place! Now to my great experience with Dr Wood. The fact that he didn't ridicule the previous work told me he was a professional. Again, he only focused on how he would make things right. It wasn't very expensive either. Twenty years later and I am very happy with Dr Woods work! Dr Wood… is a very personable person. He'll tell you what you need, but he does it constructively and in a way to not make you feel bad or worry. I can't even imagine the number of people I've sent to their office over the years, but I know it's been a lot. I have heard great things about everyone in that office, both doctors and hygienists. I have been going to Dr. Wood my entire life, my mom and dad, grandma, and my children have always been very happy with him. Last month I took my two children in for a routine cleaning. I had had a recent insurance change. Dr. Wood's receptionist failed to tell me that under my new insurance Dr. Wood was out of network. The receptionist then had me schedule a follow up visit for my son to have three cavities filled. I had Dr. Wood's staff fill my son's cavities at the follow up appointment and upon arrival and leaving for the appointment was STILL not informed that Dr. Wood was out of network for me. I later received a bill for $544.20!!!! I called to complain that I was not informed Dr. Wood was out of network at EITHER of my appointments. I was told that wasn't their responsibility and I still needed to pay them the full amount. I am very upset about this experience.
