I had not been able to see a OBGYN for a few years and when I was finally able to, Dr. Martinez was the recommendation my PCP had given me. Dr. Martinez probably saved my life by quickly identifying HPV and was very informative and kind walking me through what needed to be done. Once the surgery was over Dr. Martinez expalined to me she had to remove more then expected, but to this day 5 years later I have not had a relapse or any sign of abnormal cells. If and when I decide to have children I know I can trust in Dr. Martinez to provide me the best care like she has been doing all these years.

I was a patient of Dr Martinez for a long time for regular check ups. It wasn't until I got pregnant when I realized she does not care about her patients. Her patients are just a number. Her staff has to always provide her with a brief about patient's history, including name, so she can pretend to know you. My experience with delivery was traumatic. She left on vacation two weeks before I was due. I understood, it can happen, but the Dr she had to covered her was even worse (Dr. John Ayala). I started with contractions and went to South Miami Hospital when they were 7 minutes apart. In the hospital contractions evolved very fast and were very painful but I wasn't dilating. I spent the whole afternoon in the pre-partum room in severe pain, with contractions every two minutes and Dr Ayala instead of having me induced, or break my water he wanted me to go home!!!. I refused after arguing with him on the phone. The hospital finally admitted me and it wasn't more than an hour after Dr… Ayala told me to go home when one of the nurses realized I was having heavy bleeding. They had to put me oxygen because my baby's heart beat was decreasing and I ended up with a placenta abruption, a very serious and dangerous condition for me and the baby, reason why I had an emergency c-section. Dr Ayala nor the Hospital had not even one record of my whole prenatal history (Dr Alba Martinez responsibility). They had to repeat me exams because they did not have a clue. For my follow up appointment with Dr Martinez after having the baby she did not show up. It has been 5 months since I delivered my baby and I have not received not even a phone call from her to see what happened or why I did not go to her office anymore. If I was you I would not put my life or my baby's life in the hands on these two unprofessional people.

I met with Dr. Martinez and was happy with my initial prenatal visits up until about 28 weeks. I am from out of state, CA, and knew I would not be able to have my mother/sisters there for delivery so my husband and I decided to look for a doula for added support. We found a wonderful doula and let Dr. Martinez know we wanted the doula to go on the hospital tour with us. She was totally unsupportive of the doula and asked why I even wanted one. I explained to her that I wanted a doula to provide consistent physical/emotional support through labor (*as I heard OB's usually arrive once a woman in fully dilated and nurses change in and out often), assist me with natural labor techniques to limit use of medication/surgery (the C-section rate at South Miami was around 65% at the time) and provide post-natal support for me as well. She did not support my choice and said if I wanted a doula they could be in the room but could not say anything to me to influence by labor decisions. I decided… to leave her care and knew I made the right decision when I met another woman who's sister birthed with Dr. Martinez. She said Martinez came to the labor after clubbing on South Beach with her boyfriend and tried to sew up her sister with out anesthesia. She assumed the mother had an epidural which she had not and didn't bother to look at her charts!!! Needless to say the mother was in pain due to negligence and luckily the baby was healthy. I took it as a blessing that I dodged that bullet and ended up having a great natural home birth process..

Choosing Dr.Martinez 3 years ago to deliver my baby was by far the best decision i ever made. Shes seen me since 2013 and has always made me comfortable, she provides me with all alternatives and their benefits and risks, and is very caring for any issur you have. If i wasnt moving out of state i would probably see her till im old and gray, i highly recommend!!

Dr. Martinez delivered my son and fitted my IUD. I have never been more confident in an OB. I highly recommend her even though she is already in such high demand.

The following is my opinion of our experience with this doctor. That opinion is; terrible concern for her client at the smallest sign of trouble. We do not recommend this person. This is the laziest doctors I have met. I have 3 previous children delivered by three different doctors. To me, each one lived up to the oath they took to provide the care they swear too. NOT THIS ONE. I thought my wife was getting everything she needed visiting her. Boy was I wrong. She did almost nothing regarding prenatal care. Checked heart beat and measured stomach and rushed us out the door. My wife has a very small anatomy. Our repeated requests to have her examine my wife's anatomy were ignored. She refused to understand my wife's specific condition and needs. She then left town and did not even inform us and another doctor we never met initiated the delivery based on her Martinez's input (which wasn't worth much). At the end of the day Martinez's poor diagnoses and attention to my… wife's feedback resulted in the baby being stuck and an emergency c-section (extra large cut) where I almost lost my baby and possibly my wife. It is my opinion, the doctor that performed the delivery and surgery was extremely talented and able to adjust her strategy (based on poor input) and was able to save my baby. Maybe that was a blessing. To add insult to injury, when Martinez returned to town she visited my wife. While my wife was still in a great deal of pain she discharged my wife from the hospital against our request for further monitoring. She was cold and uncaring about our situation. Oh it gets better. She asked my wife how the baby was doing instead of checking for herself and her telling us...she expected my wife to tell her. That was the last straw and we immediately dismissed her and hired the other doctor.

I have no complaints. Congratulations to Dr. Martinez and Staff.....Keep up the Good Work!!!!

I just love Dr. Martinez. I have been a patient of hers for the past 6 years and would recommend.
