Dr Albert W. Chow

My nose is scarred and deformed after my rhinoplasty procedure. I also had a correctional procedure for Chow’s mistake, which just made the problem worse. This has been emotionally traumatizing - you need to avoid Dr. Chow at all costs, he started defending his mistakes in front of me instead of just being honest and admitting to what went wrong. I should’ve done more research, but apparently, even that wouldn’t have helped.. Please, please don’t trust Dr. Chow’s positive reviews on other sites like RealSelf, etc, because he is gaming so many of them. To my anger, my review there got deleted: he’s literally paying the site to take bad reviews down and keep fake good reviews up (RealSelf is just one of the many unethical sites in a largely unregulated industry that just has doctors pay them for a good reputation as their cash cow). Google Reviews, HealthGrades and CareDash have censored reviews for mentioning a “botch”, or abandonment of patients/negligence (that’s so sketchy…it’s… important for people to know this stuff) and other stupid reasons at the doctor’s request for removal - they’re not on the patient’s side. As mentioned by a reviewer on Yelp, he also has a document he makes botched patients sign to get their refund, upon which they have to agree to not post a bad review of him - be sure to do your research and be wary of his fake “good track record”, he is unethical and he’ll abandon you after botching you. Trust me, you don’t ever want to go through that emotionally. There is no way Dr.Chow can have so many glowing reviews considering his unethical behavior, as well as the fact that he literally pays to have reviews taken down, and undoubtedly puts fake positive reviews up for the same reason.

I had my nose botched and I’d like to speak on my entire experience here, because so many things about his office, staff, etc. are just messed up, aside from just Dr. Chow’s incompetence itself. Had a rhinoplasty that went wrong, and he tries to pass it off as a “good result” even when my close friends tell me it definitely could look better. Now I have to spend more time and money getting this fixed elsewhere while looking like a mess. Apparently any procedure he does looks ok to this man, he’s just interested in protecting himself. I’ve had hairdressers try to convince me the same to try to cover themselves when it’s obvious they didn’t do a good job; it’s just a tactic. Dr. Chow is also incredibly cocky as an individual. I kid you not when I say that he thinks that he’s some kind of ladies’ man, and that that his patients, who are mainly women, throw themselves at him - on one visit, I was anxious from some work stresses, and apparently he starts thinking I look nervous because… of him, because he starts flirting/teasing me. Extremely full of himself and so pretentious to assume. It put me off so much; I just can’t make this stuff up. He really needs to learn some humility, no one is into himself as much as he is. And no one can upset him much either: not the people he’s paying as staff, and certainly not his patients because they don’t want their face/body messed up. It probably contributed to him inflating his own ego so much over the years. It’s almost shocking to see this guy get so cocky about himself when he didn’t exactly win the lottery in the looks department himself (he’s insecure and full of ego too, btw). He has literally no one to knock his giant ego back down to a healthy level. Chow just never grew up, a guy like this should be embarrassed of himself. How he’s both this cocky about being a womanizer while having zero communication skills (wow, so attractive) at his age is a mystery - how he sees himself is a reflection of his character, and he needs help.

Doctors can get away with a lot without being held accountable because we just don’t have the law on our side. Seems like no one is strong enough to do the right thing in the face of money anymore. Don’t support this “doctor”, all he’s after is your money, and he’ll stop caring about you after he gets it, whether or not your surgery goes well.

I will be calling Dr. Chow out both professionally (both my original procedure, asian upper blepharoplasty aka. "double eyelid surgery" and the "revision" were botched), and who he is as a person. I have decided to live botched instead of taking a lot of money to "shut me up" , in order to inform you all on what he is like, and to help you all make informed decisions. He told me he'd sue me simply for sharing my experiences, had I signed a contract to keep me quiet- and of course I did not (see my photo if you're curious about the form). Every time I asked him about mistakes on my procedures, he'd always try to dodge me: I had to interrogate him with multiple questions to get him to be honest. Or, he'd try to deny what happened, or not admit to mistakes even when I literally pointed them out on my face, or dodge answering my questions, etc. Luckily, I'm not too dumb and can see through when he is trying to cover himself; I can see how others could get fooled. Hurts emotionally to… have your doctor choose business interests over those of the patient, and there’s nothing you can do. When asking about hair replacement, he didn't even know the most common name for the procedure I needed (I researched it beforehand and knew more than him). What a red flag: he was willing to perform said procedure on me, even when he clearly doesn't do often or know enough about. In our capitalistic society, your money speaks: Please support someone who actually deserves your hard-earned money - not this guy, and do heavy research into your procedure and who you support to protect yourself - the consumer is very vulnerable when it comes to surgery, there are many doctors who do anything just for money, and the law is against you. It will take me 3 procedures to fix what I can of my face (eyes & hairline), so if you'd like to help me, even if it's small, please message me on Yelp where I’ve left the same review (I’m Mia A.). I am one person living alone/not well-off, with no family or network to support me, so I can't afford anything right now. People tend to not care about strangers, so message me even if this review gets "old". Hope this helps & please be careful - don't suffer like me. Don't trust all the glowing reviews. I'm sure that with his outdated technique, many are getting botched. He just does this particular procedure for extra cash.

Dr. Chow did a wonderful job on my surgery. I had surgery done by someone else and a redo by the same person which turn out to go from bad to horrible. I was sent to Dr. Chow by my PCP doctor. Dr. Chow listened to me and saw the problems that had occurred from the two surgeries. I was in pain 24/7. He reassured me that he could help me and gave me permission to call his office whenever I needed to talk. Dr. Chow did the surgery over 2 months ago. The pain is gone!!! He went over and above to fix me. His staff was excellent. They were compassionate and very supportive. I can't say enough to explain what Dr. Chow and his staff have done for me. Dr. Chow is my friend and hero. Thank you for all you and your staff have done.
