My child suffers from an eating disorder and was referred to Dr Hergenroeder. My child has significant anxiety about eating. Dr Hergenroeder exacerbated the problem by telling my child that they are the only one who can get themselves healthy again and they simply have to choose to eat. It denies the mental aspect of the eating disorder altogether and blames the child for their own problem. Dr Hergenroeder also told my child (12 years old) that they would be placed in inpatient treatment for 4-6 weeks with an NG feeding tube if the child did not simply choose to get better. And this doctor is supposed to specialize in eating disorders? Ridiculous.

As the other reviews have indicated, the guy is a jerk. He has a God complex and how dare you ask a question regarding his diagnosis or question him in any way. He doesn't listen to patient / parent concerns. I had to resist the strong urge to choke him out every time I had to deal with him.

Dr. H is rude and judgmental. The best way to describe him is extremely focused on the success of his program, but not the success of the patients. He does not listen to the patient or parent concerns, and is rude and disrespectful if you disagree or ask for further explanation. I did not authorize the use of medication for my child and he ordered it anyway. He ignored my request for more information about the side effects and dismissed my concerns. The nurses at TCH are, as expected, top notch. Run away from this doctor as fast as you are able.

He is Very rude, unkind, threatens to call CPS when one cannot keep an appointment, regardless even when the person reschedules.

An excellent Clinical doctor that represents a very large hospital and team of professionals. The problem like everything that is large, I feel that our child's concerns are dismissed. I believe that the Doctor focuses on one issue while ignoring the feelings of and concerns of patients and parents. Like everything medical, however, patients have little or no voice in their care.

Needs to improve bedside manners

He is very rude and judgmental and without looking at the complete picture makes a judgment. And if you cannot get better within a particular timeframe, it's your fault. He isn't responsible for it at all neither will he look for other factors that might have affected the condition. A poor doctor.

Hears you but doesn't listen to you. Talks down to you. Etc
