Dr. Albert Joey Persia, MD

I made an appointment with Family Health for my Yearly Wellness exam, which is covered by insurance. A few days before the appointment I received a call stating the exam would be a phone visit, because of Covid-19. I questioned how, and was told the office was closed and all appointments were TeleVisit or phone. I agreed, since it had been more than a year. This visit was comprised of me notifying the Physician's Assistant of my prescribed medications, my request, for a script to check cholesterol, telling the PA how much I weighed, and what my blood pressure was the last time I had an appointment. But to her, the most important thing was insisting I schedule another visit in four months. I received a bill for a new patient visit. This is a scam. My appointment was for wellness, which they assured could be by phone. Of course insurance would not pay, they didn't do anything, but bill $183, claiming the patient is responsible, because insurance did not pay. I filed a complaint with NYS.

He listens and responds. He is friendly,knowledgeable and understanding.

As a new patient, Dr. Persia Impresses me with several aspects of his care, his knowledge, his competance, his compassionate nature, and his manner towards a patient. I found him to be skillful, well versed, sincerely committed to providing good care, and able to draw wise conclusions for difficult/inter-specialty conditions, which were normally bounced between specialists without ANY OF THEM coordinating a real treatment plan to abate the underlying problems. I was grateful for the amount of time which Dr. Persia was willing to invest, to get a grip upon several medical problems; and then, I was consequently impressed with his abilities in drawing conclusions from his thorough questions. Dr. Persia made connections, and conclusions which have normally escaped specialists, when the nature of my complex problems should fall beyond the boundaries of any one specialty. I would normally simply be bounced to another specialist, while never really solving the… underlying problems; they were each merely flagging reasons why any one specialist could not tackle the whole problem, when symptoms involved another body system. After a number of years of bouncing repeatedly between specialists, my problems were never solved; the costs were prohibitive, and then, resorting to lower cost clinic care in a teaching hospital (Buffalo ), the next issue was of the time delays between various visits. Ultimately, the clinic interns kept alternating by each of my next return visits, because of the long delays caused by waiting for reqested specialty appointments; finished with a semester, the interns would move on! The intentions were never fulfilled. Time was wasted at every visit flipping between two inch stacks of tests, records and chart notes... Ultimately, every new intern assigned to my care would be Overwhelmed by the amount of data to absorb during, what was to them, a first visit, and then the appointment time slot would be ending. with an intent to make progress at the next visit. The next visit often resulted in the same; it was a hopeless waste! Nothing was ever resolved. I quit trying for a number of years, instead, endeavoring to maintain my health holistically, but I was still unable to really heal, or get on in life. Dr. Persia has an excellent grip on his knowledge base, and a will to strategically employ it to treat systemic challenges which stretch between numerous specialties. He has expressed a willingness to manage what he can of my assorted conditions, without insisting upon playing ping pong with expensive visits to a list of specialists. He is down to earth, attentive, and proficient. I like his warm, inquisitive, and sincere concern for his patients. He is devoted to the Art of Medicine, and well worthy of accolades. So grateful to find a good doctor, I almost hesitate to praise him, fearing that singing his well deserved praises could tighten his schedule with an influx of new patients!

After 15 yrs.of shifting around from doctor to doctor, (because they all left Jamestown)I feel like Dr.Persia is the best thing that has happened to me. I bring a list of questions and we work together and problems are being solved. I trust him--he is concerned and caring about me and doesn't make me feel stupid.

Dr Persia has brought our family thru many hard illness's. We really like Him. So glad we have him here. Hard to find someone that will listen and spend time with you. I highly recommend him!Rhonda will work hard to get you into the office, shes the best!!!

Dr. Persia is the best. I highly recommend him to anyone!!
