I called a few days ago to make an appointment for a tooth that was giving me some issues. I spent nearly 10 minutes on the phone w/receptionist describing the complete situation. Of course the most important question was, “Do you still have the same insurance?” Yes, of course and I would like an appointment as soon as possible. The dentist I was previously assigned could not see me till Friday. I said, well, I can check with my dentist in Kenosha. The response was, “Oh no, let me see if another dentist has time to see you.” Turns out another dentist was available Wed. at 2:00. Fine I said I will take that appointment. I got there, called for permission to enter, was asked again about my insurance and then was told “they are ready for you”. A dental assistant brought me to the chair… I explained why I was there… so she decided to take an x-ray. Next thing she wanted to make small talk, (which was fine) the dentist was not ready. After about 15 minutes the dentist came in.… First thing she said when I opened my mouth was, “Did we ever talk about a crown?” I didn’t even tell her she has never seen me before. I was not there for a crown anyway. I explained my issue, she took out a mirror and flossed the sensitive area and told me she was too busy today and I needed to make another appointment… Seriously??? If you don’t have time to see me why waste my time and spend my insurance money. I spent maybe two minutes with her. I went out to reception and told the person that for the next appointment I would like to see my scheduled dentist. She said fine no problem and spent the next five minutes trying to figure out how to bill me and set up the next appt. I had an emergency come up and told her to please call me later as I had to go now. She apologized and I told her not to worry. I left. This was my second visit to this dentist. Unfortunately, after the first visit I came down with Covid-19 and infected the rest of my household. Not saying it came from the office, but can’t seem to think it came from anywhere else. I have always been self employed and have had to pay all my own family’s dental bill out of pocket. So I now I have the luxury of Medicare and dental insurance I still spend that money as if it were out of my own pocket. I felt this dental group was much more interested in my insurance than my dental needs. On top of it all, I was charged 126.00 for essentially nothing. Total waste of time, Not going back.
