Dr. Alberto Luchtan, MD

We interviewed Dr Luchtan to see if he would be our childs pediatrician and I wanted to run out of the office within minutes of talking to him. He was saying that vaccines are basically the reason why there is over-population in Africa. That if we would've allowed for these people to not be vaccinated, then natural selection would've taken care of them alone- his exact words. Also, he takes unvaccinated children due to parents personal reasons in his practice.

Just 19 years ago, just before our first child was born, our family was lucky enough to be referred to Dr. Luchtan. We never left Dr. Luchtan and Boca Pediatric group because of Dr. Luchtan's amazing personality, bedside manner and clinical skills. While he is not an alarmist, he is quick to let you know when your child needs to go to a specialist to dig a little deeper into something. Dr. Luchtan always gives 100 percent to his families and patients as if they are the only people waiting to be seen. We are very grateful that we feel that we can always depend upon him and his amazing staff for the best care.

Dr Luchtan is great. H e has been my doctor for over 10 years and has never failed to treat me well. He is very caring. When I was hospitalized due to another doctor's negligence he went to see me everyday at the hospital to make sure I was doing well and improving if it was not for him and Dr Armada whom is also in his office I would have lost a limb. He is very to the point when you are not being compliant so if you cannot take well pointed criticism towards unhealthy behavior find someone else that just does not care for you and tells you yes to your unhealthy habits.He is great and that's why he is busy and may have a wait at times. But they do offer same day appointments so I don't understand some of the comments of you not having a same day appointment. The office staff is usually pretty good about accommodating you with your preferred provider but don't expect to just walk in and see your preferred provider as they may not be there if you just walk in.

Both my children had suffered from constant ear infections.....a cold always ended up becoming an ear infection. Previous doctors just loaded them with antibiotics. Dr. Luchtan resolved this by immediately referring to ear nose and throat specialist. They have not had ear infections since! Anytime I call to try and schedule an appointment, they get me in without hesitation. Love this office and their staff!!!

I took my daughter as a walk-in patient because she is constantly complaing about headaches. I wasn't expecting to be seen immediately, or by the same doctor that we always see because it was clear that there was not appointment preset. I understood all that I appreciate that only one person in reception made an effort to accomodate us. However, when we met with "our" doctor, he bluntly called my daughter "CERDA" pig in Spanish , saying that her headaches may be due to the fact that she is overweight. He proceed and literally told me in front of her: that if she keeps being overweight, by the time she turns 13 she will stay home as a pig while her friends are having fun. Whether my daughter is overweight or not is beyond the discussion. She is only 8 year old and this was rude and unacceptable and at the same time, because of my insurance it was the only way to get a referral for a scan. That's not it unfortunately. After that, I was scolded by this doctor by showing up without… an appointment, because normally people wait months to see him, so he said... My take is that no child should be put down this way by anyone regardless of this person is a doctor or not. Zero in compassion.

My daughter and I have had two bad experiences.

Dr. Luchtan is a very good Doctor. Frankly the only Doctor in his office I have any confidence in. Big problem is getting an appointment with him and the very long wait once you are there. A few times we have had to take an appointment with another Docter in his office when Luchtan was unavailable. Can't even begin to relate how incompetent these other Doctor were.

Dr Luchtan is a fantastic Doctor. Very caring knowledgeable.
