Dr. Alden P. P. Zwerling, MD

I've had a disseminated coccidioidomycosis infection and several doctors said that in order for that to happen to me there's most likely an issue with my immune system. No one figured it out, not even the infectious disease doctors. Soon after Dr Zwerling became my PCP he tested me for vitamin D and it turned out that I was deficient, which he said may have weakened my immune system. After starting to take vitamin D supplements the one remaining symptom I had--occasional inflammation in one of the infected areas--disappeared. I then felt comfortable enough to stop taking the antifungal medication. Dr Zwerling's knowledge really impressed me.

Chairside manner deplorable. Frightened me with a test result instead of explaining it. I had to ask 5 (so far) licensed doctors and nurses to get illumination on what my initial test result might portend. He has a reputation of spending a lot of time with his patients, but it's not quality time -- it's just enough to make sure you're good and scared. Revolting man
