After being diagnosed with breast cancer only six weeks after giving birth, my life was turned upside down over night. I immediately started chemo therapy, and a few moths later I was researching reconstructive surgeons. Dr. Spiegel came highly recommended by my oncologist, and I'd later find out it was for very good reason. Not only was I welcomed very warmly by everyone in the office, Dr. Spiegel showed me such a great deal of compassion that it really helped to put my mind at ease for my upcoming surgery. It was very clear from the wealth of information on her website, her tutorial videos, and the personal attention from everyone in office - from her PA's, to the office manager to her billing specialist - that everyone there was working together, fighting together, for the absolute best experience and results for the patient. The whole process from start to finish took a holistic approach to treating the patient. I ended up getting the DIEP Flap reconstruction surgery, and I was… very worried about the final results - not just the look of the breasts, but also the abdominal scar. Dr. Spiegel explained everything in great detail to me, assured me she was going to make it all look wonderful, and after just having finished the second surgery (the cosmetic phase), I am thrilled with how it all looks so far. I'm still healing, but I cannot believe how great it all already looks. Dr. Spiegel surpassed my expectations, which were already very high. She's given me back a body I'd thought I'd never have again. My breasts look like they did when I was 20, maybe even better. And while there's no getting around the fact that this type of surgery leaves a long abdominal scar, her work left a very clean, soft line. One that over time, I know will fade and blend nicely. She contoured my entire abdominal and thigh area, and used that tissue to reconstruct the breasts. It all looks incredible. She's truly an artist. I'd highly recommend her to anyone thinking about about getting this complex surgery done after a double mastectomy. Thank you Dr. Spiegel and all you amazing souls at her office. You all helped me tremendously through such a terrifying time in my life and shepherded me to the other side of it.

I don't remember how long I waited on initial appointment, because it's been over two years since my first appointment. Dr. Spiegel performed DIEP procedure in May 2013. I had very good care and was always able to reach someone, if I had a concern. I highly recommend her. Aside from residual scars, which is expected at this point, my body looks better than it did prior to reconstruction.

Dr. Spiegel performed my breast reconstructions after an eventual double mastectomy about ten years ago. The work done was exceptional, as well as the aftercare. A decade later the work is still amazing. During a really rough time of my life she and her staff were so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend, Dr. Spiegel.

Having a bilateral mastectomy doesn't have to disfigure you. In fact, I think I look better than I did before breast cancer. This is all thanks to Dr. Aldona Spiegel. She and her staff treat you like family from the first consultation. I couldn't be happier with my results. I saw three different physicians in Houston for my breast reconstruction needs. It was clear to me that having Dr. Spiegel do my surgery was the clear choice. I have done my research. She has done more DIEPS than any other surgeon in Houston combined. She really has done more cases than all of them together. I found the other doctors to be more sales like and tell me what i wanted to hear. Dr. Spiegel was honest, caring and truthful. She carefully explained to me all the options and the pros and risks of each type of reconstruction. Her entire staff seems to have the same caring feelings for me that Dr. Spiegel did. There are not enough words to describe how i feel. After 4 days post-op i was back on my feet and six months later I have never felt better. I am back in swimsuit, I am feeling like a women again and there isn't a doctor in the world that can do what Dr. Spiegel does. When I found out I had DCIS at the age of 35 without any family history of cancer during my very first mammogram, I was shocked and devastated. My breast surgeon referred me to Dr. Spiegel for reconstruction and I was not sure if Dr. Spiegel was the person for the job. She is so young and I didn\'t know if she is experienced enough for me. After researching online and reading up on Dr. Spiegel\'s work, I scheduled a consultation with her. She was very easy to talk to and I felt completely at ease with her. She answered all my questions to my satisfaction and I knew then she would make me complete again. The surgery was very smooth and my recovery was without any hiccups. All my family were very pleased with the surgery and Dr. Spiegel\'s staff are wonderful. 6 weeks after my DIEP flap surgery, I was at the gym doing kickboxing class. My family was amazed at my recovery. I am now 14 months out of the surgery and besides a bit of numbness around the surgery site, I feel great and normal.… I am very blessed to have Dr. Spiegel and her team on my side.
