Dr. Alejandro Morales

I love this doctor with all of my heart. I didn’t meet Dr. Morales until after I had my transplant. He was one of the physicians I saw for checkups at Mayo for the first four months afterwards. Immediately I noticed that he paid attention to me. He trusted me with my body and I wasn’t just a number I was a real person. When my doctor retired a year after my transplant he knew how much I liked Dr. Morales and he referred me to him. I have recently had a few setbacks and he was on vacation during some of that and I got a taste of how it is without him and I have never been so unhappy. This is a Doctor Who literally listens to every word you say and doesn’t think just because you’re not a doctor you don’t know how you feel. He doesn’t scare you he looks on the bright side, he works with you, he asks questions, he remembers your family. He actually cares. I also simply adore his sense of humor. He’s a real person. Not just a mystery doctor person. I laugh with him I laugh after I’ve… left his office remembering the things that he said. I feel very blessed and very fortunate to have him and will never take that for granted.

Had a horrible time at this office. He was very rude and even inappropriate at times speaking about religion, politics and even raci issues. Barely looked at me while speaking to me. I have been seeing Dr. Morales for three years and in the last year or so I believe he is having a mental breakdown . He should not be allowed to practice anymore.

We gave this doctor 3 chances and all 3 visits we walked away thinking i cannot believe this is the kind of treatment we are receiving at the Mayo Clinic. I understand that he does not actually work for the Mayo clinic but he does see patients who are there for Kidney Transplants under the care AKDHC. This man treated us as if we were an inconvenience to his day. Would question why we were there for the appointment (the appointment was a follow up for a kidney transplant less than 30 days). The next appointment he questioned why we would have an ultra sound done, we didn't ask for this to be done, they scheduled the ultra sound. The third appointment he REFUSED to answers questions we had about some concerns we had. He bad mouthed some of the other doctors decisions that they made about my husbands care and medications. After 3 appointments with him i could go on and on with all the horrible treatment we received from this doctor, but i am just going to end this post with this:… overall this doctor has zero patient bedside manner, he displays little to no interest in his patients or their well being. There are some really amazing doctors with AKDHC, but he is not one of them.. do what we did.. refuse to see this doctor in the future.

Love love Dr Morales! I am one of his earlier transplant patients. I am overweight and female, to address "worse" comment he has never ever made me feel bad for being overweight or female. Has never shamed me or been condescending about it. Please future patients don't be put off what others might say. He is honest, direct and most of all he knows his specialty. It has been 8 years since my transplant, he saw me through diaylsis. Has always been caring and there for me. Of all my doctors he is my favorite and I would be devastated to lose him. Its been 10 years and and he has been a big part of saving my life. .

Dr obviously cares about his patients.

Rude, condescending. Bad bedside manner. Bad mouthed my other physicians and their treatment orders. Should not be part of AKDHC or Mayos.

These complaints against Morales are hysterical. He and I have butted heads many times, but in the end he's been always been right. If he makes you cry, go elsewhere. I assure you, if you're at a Nephrologist and you are on the verge of kidney failure, you'll be crying anywhere you go. And is he an Onion? Perhaps. I prefer to think of him as a Shallot. It's shaped like an American Football and he hates American Football. Great style too. Seriously, the guy knows his sh1t. He is direct and won't beat around the bush, something too many doctors are guilty of nowadays. Can't recommend him more...

I had the worst Dr. appointment of my life with this Dr. He was demeaning, dehumanizing and barely looked up at me our entire 8 minute appt. I am a large lady so I have grown a pretty thick skin about the things Drs. say to me. But I have never in my life been treated with such disdain and when I started crying he said, "Oh, everyone on my staff calls me The Onion because I make all the patients cry." I don't believe he should be treating women, because I believe he is a misogynist. He made generalized statements about my life, which he knows nothing about, that were so sexist I thought it was 1965 for a minute. I'd avoid him like the plague if I were you.
