Dr. Alemayehu Gebissa Biffa, MD

He was convinced he knew what happened to me despite my telling him otherwise, sent me off for an unnecessary X-ray, imagined reasons I may be experiencing my symptoms even though I knew them not to be relevant, didn't listen to me, displayed arrogance when I explained my situation, did not ask relevant questions, and didn't treat me for the problem I came in for. I had to go to the ER for a second opinion that night, wasting 4 more hours of my day on top of the 2 I already spent here, and costing me an unnecessary $200 copay. This doctor has his mind made up without listening to the facts, and I worry for patients who assume he knows what's going on and then suffer with wrong or no treatment. My simple yet extreme infection that wasn't being treated by my current antibiotics could have gone septic, but he wasn't concerned with that and sent me home with instructions to continue on my meds and not to add others. Thank goodness the ER was able to ID what was wrong immediately and… get me on the meds that did work. I hope that this doctor will learn to check his assumptions at the door, listen to his patients, and ask intelligent questions that don't necessarily cater only to his erroneous misperceptions.

If you are assigned to see Dr. Biffa and have anything that is in his opinion not “acute” (something obviously wrong with you) , run for the hills. This man is the most rigid, conservative, uncaring, cold hearted doctor I have encountered in 68 years! I am caregiver for a woman with several long term , painful, chronic conditions. He essentially told her to “suck it up” in regards pain, refused to look at her ankles when she complained about swelling, refused to look at her previous records (yes, he refused), in essence called her a liar when she sought help for an infection, just dignosed 2 weeks before by a doctor and when confronted by his lack of understanding, terminated the visit by walking out. So my friends, unless you have a most obvious ailment, see someone else. My dog gets better treatment from her veterinarian. Haughty know it all attitude, arrogance, uncaring personality and a total lack of compassion make this man dangerous in his job. (all of the above in my personal… opinion only) Michael
