Dr. Alessandro C Speciale, MD

Can only speak of my experience with Dr Speciale. It was very positive. The doctor took all the time to interact with me re my problem. Based on responses and imaging analysis discussed courses of action. Never felt that I was being rushed to end session. Would recommend Dr. Speciale for spinal orthopedic issues.

I had spine surgery yesterday by Dr. Speciale....i am home and comfortable....this has been such a positive experience....everyone i have come in contact with has bee awesome...the office staff, hospital staff all nurses, operating personnel, recovery nd discharge have been friendly, caring take time to answer all questions and run the entire unit like a well oiled machine....Dr. Speciale i can’t recommend highly enough...i have suffered with back pain for years. He looked at test results and just like that said, here is your main problem....tried nerve block injection with Dr. Rodriquez also awesome..it worked but only for a short time so surgery was scheduled...one day after i feel better than i have for the last couple years all thanks to Dr. Speciale and his team...i cannot express my gratitude to this team and the work they do...i will be forever thankful!!??

Very unprofessional scheduled me a month out and then called to reschedule farther out. Changed doctors from someone who has no consideration for their patients!!!

Came with back pain, he seriously didn't do anything but glance at me and have a 5 minute conversation. Never saw him again and he billed my insurance thousands.

I was in a car accident and had seen numerous doctors who refused to do anything to relieve my pain. Dr. Speciale was recommended to me. When I visited doctor Speciale's office and saw him and explained what had happened he know exactly how I was feeling and recommended surgery to relieve my pain. One year and six month's later I haven't had any problems. He made my Mom feel so at ease before the surgery. His staff was very helpful and knowledgeable throughtout the process, I had no issues or concerns. I recommend Dr. Speciale to everyone that tells we they have a back problem. He was great.

Dr. speciality took test looked at my results. I was told I had degenerative disc in my neck. No further treatment options were offered am no records of my visit was given to me or my doctor .

I originally tried to book an appointment with this office to see a spine specialist quite some time ago. They danced around my answers about my auto accident, put me on hold for 30 minutes and told me they don't see car accident patients because they don't like dealing with lawyers. I didn't elect PIP for my own insurance plan and they flat out refused to accept my regular health insurance (who has paid for EVERYTHING since my car accident by the way) and told me I would have to self pay. I gave up and saw a different Ortho who I didn't like. Eventually I called the office again and made an appointment (I was still in the system.) When they asked what caused the injury I said an accident, I just failed to mention it was a car accident. Then they let me see a spine surgeon in less than two weeks. The staff are terrible, both on the phone in Annapolis and at the Odenton location. The girl at the front desk was talking on the phone with a personal call and called me up while I… waited for 10 minutes for her to finish her call to her boyfriend. It took them 30 minutes to bring me into the back. Dr. Speciale listened to my history since the accident and gave me a very thorough exam. We discussed my surgical options, and he didn't seem very enthused about the whole process. I was expecting stats on his surgical history, how often he does the procedure, etc. he didn't bring any of that up. He's a good surgeon, but he came across as really disinterested in selling himself to me so I would pick him to do the surgery. When he led me out to book my next appointment and give me the sheet of information on the surgery I needed 8 of the assistants in the back were just standing around talking to each other and the girl at the computer not only couldn't figure out how to get me my next appointment but also couldn't figure out where to find the sheet of information. I think he'd probably do a good job on the surgery but I didn't feel confident this was the best place I could find to do my surgery.

Staff was fine at the appt. Follow up phone calls were not handled well at all.

I was pleased that a doctor of his caliber still allots time and attn to a new patient that he did as he was beginning to make a name for himself.
