Dr. Alex Matthew Meyers, MD

The services I received from A Meyers for a surgical site infection in my hand caused by one of his partners was disappointing. Meyers allowed the infection to progress to osteomyelitis over 4 months putting me on ineffective oral antibiotics.I broke out in a sepsis rash twice and was in constant pain.He refused to give me a referral for a second opinion to another Infectious Disease(ID) doctor or order an MRI for 4 months.The new ID doctor immediately ordered an MRI. Osteomyelitis was diagnosed.I was started on 42 days of infused IV antibiotics at a hospital center-I could not drive or engage in normal activities for 42 days.I am now under the care of expert professors and clinicians at one of the top 5 university medical schools in the United States who are trying to rectify the care I received and prevent amputation of my finger. I am trying to put this incident behind me but it is difficult since I have pain every time the tip of my finger touches a surface.My finger is permanently… deformed.

Dr Myers is an amazing person that made time to explain any of the concerns that I had prior to both my rotator cuff surgery and my wrist surgery to fix my Kein Box Disease, he was very professional and caring person that always had a smile and took as much time as needed to explain everything that he was going to do during both surgery's and what to expect after the surgery's and during every office visit I had before and after the surgery while I was under his care he truly showed that he truly cared about his patients and that he wanted to do everything he could do to get me back to normal always told me that there is never a stupid question I had about what was going on with my injuries and took as much time as was needed to answer my question during every visit never felt rushed I would highly recommend him to anyone

Our son broke his elbow and was seen at the St. Vincent ER and referred to Dr. Meyers for surgery. From the minute he greeted us in the waiting room, we knew Dr. Meyers was one of kind. He took time to explain everything that was going to happen during surgery in a way we understood. After finishing our son's 4-hour surgery at 10:30pm, he sat down and showed us with x-rays what took place during surgery and what to expect over the next weeks. Not only is he a talented surgeon, his pleasant demeanor was refreshing. We were blessed to have him as our son's surgeon and would highly recommend him.

I have had 3 different procedures preformed by Dr. Myers, and I would not hesitate to see him again if needed. Very knowledgeable, and took the time to draw diagrams each time so that I could clearly understand what my issue was. Never rushed out the door. He is a very caring doctor.

Dr. Meyers is a highly positive individual who takes time to know the person he is treating. He is practical and caters his care to the individual needs and lifestyle of the patient. I highly recommend him. My shoulder is doing great!

I actually like Dr. Meyers. He came to my rescue after a cat bite put me in the hospital for 24 hours. It's his office and his office's policies are my issue. I called to get a report of what was done so I could file an Aflec claim. They wanted me to pay $30 for a report detailing what Dr. Meyers did and why I was in the hospital. That also caused me to start looking for another doctor to perform a rotator cuff surgery later this year.

Dr. Meyers and his staff are very compassionate, caring and professional. I don't like many docs, but Dr. Meyers is a personable physician as well as a great surgeon

DR. Alex Myers He was very polite down to earth DR. That made you feel very comfortable and had very good bed side manners and he seemed like he cared about you and your concerns of what was going on with you and took his time with you and was not worried about getting out of there to get to the next patient ! The very first time I met him he was very friendly great smile real jolly! Then the day of surgery he was in and out of room a few times to see if I had any questions or concerns. And then anesthesiologist came in and introduced his self explained what all he would be doing to me to prepare me for the surgery he was very nice too ! so after that I was on my way to go to sleep for a little while. But the whole staff was great from start to finish just all around a great Staff ! and his office visits was great too all very good overall !

I strongly recommend Dr Alex(I called him by his first name). He is extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, nice, polite, and caring. He is one of the best doctors I have ever dealt with. It can be difficult to get an immediate appointment but it's worth the wait! He explained all the risk's of my hand surgery and that it wasn't guaranteed to work, but I had faith in him. It heeled 100%! He answered any questions I had, even the "Dumb" ones(I say that cause there is no such thing and he made me and my wife feel like all our concerns were very valid.)
