Dr. Alexander Foad Akhavan, MD

Dr. Akhavan is brilliant, so you are in the best hands. I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews, but Dr. Akhavan is just like the doctor on the TV show Good Doctor, and genius can be misinterpreted. I would choose him over any other doctor.

I really disliked how rude this doctor was. He could care less about my health concerns. It feels like he just wants patients out right away. He did not offer any help at all. I would say look for another doctor who will actually listen and care.

This man is very dangerous. He does not care about his patients at all. He doesn't even bother to tell the loved ones what's going on. Shame on him and any Hospital that continues to let him practice.

Dr. Akhavan was treating my mom at sunrise hospital. When my mom first came into contact with him for her care he did not contact me, her daughter at all and didn’t return my calls for two days that I left with his office and finally after paging him through ICU he called me back. He was short on discussing my mom’s symptoms, seemed highly uneducated and I understand doctors don’t have to be kind but he was very rude, dismissive and aloof. My mom is nonverbal and incapacitated due to her stroke and he made my experience so much harder. I am only 30 years old and how can you prepare for this. Anyone who is out there with a sick loved one, just know you are not alone I hear you. Thx for reading. Stay away from this aloof man, he should be ashamed of calling himself a doctor.

Tried to make payments. Staff could care less. I said I'd notify Dr. Akhavan of uncooperative behavior. She laughed and said, "Go ahead"...no statements, no responses. Staff obviously doesn't respect this doctor or his patients. As a business owner myself, I would can the whole lot.

My husband has been in and out of hospitals for a couple of years battling cancer. This experience with this Dr and Sunrise Hospital was unacceptable in every way. While travelling in Vegas we had the misfortune of having this Dr during a 4-day hospitalization. It was the worst care ever experienced. The Dr barely glanced at us, spent only a moment of time with us when visiting and when attempting to answer his questions he would interupt me and respond with belittling comments ... as if we were stupid! No compassion, empathy or even humanity. My husband is on multiple meds including pain meds. The drug list and doseages were provided to Dr and staff more than once yet he received nothing for 24 hours! Dr blamed nurses! Dr had not authorized the meds. Cant express how dissatisfied we were w this "physician".

This doctor was so terrible, just careless and dishonest. There was no communication from this guy. My dad passed away under this guy's care due to his negligence. This guy should be in jail.

This guy showed up in my room ay Sunrise Hospital on the morning after my surgery. He said he had seen me the previous afternoon but I would not remember because I had been "out" due to anesthesia from my surgery and he was going to discharge me. He did discharge me at 9:30am. I found out I had been discharged at 2:30 pm when I asked for my scheduled pain medication. The medication was denied because I had been discharged. I had to scramble to find someone to come get me so I could pick up the RX he had ordered before the pharmacy closed. In addition to the pain medication he had ordered a blood pressure medication which duplicated a prescription I already had. A total jerk.

Discharge DR. From SunRise Hospital, he did not get my insurance info from the hospital saw him for les than 10 minutes sent my Name to a collection agency for the cost of 1,600 dollars, never did call my home or request any information from me

This doctor was the absolute worst as attending physician during stay at Sunrise Hospital. He did NOT familiarize himself with my case while attempting to treat me. He does not emit any confidence and speaks like a bumbling idiot.
