Dr. Alexander Gomez Duarte, MD

Very caring & compassionate. Treats me with respect. Always thoroughly explains everything to me in terms that I can understand. Has been brutally honest, even if I didn't want to listen. I am grateful to him and his team for saving my life and to help maintain my quality of life.

He told me I didn't have asthma which I have been dealing with for years. All he did was listen to my chest. I am on advair to control my asthma. He then told me that I didn't have bronchitis a few months prior to seeing him, he said that people get coughs and just overreact. I had it for 2 months and even had to go to the ER because of it. I am also having a breathing problem where I stop breathing and had to be rushed to the ER in an ambulance. He said that there was nothing wrong and it is normal I am just more aware of my breathing.

The only major downside to Dr. Duarte's office is the fact it takes months to get an appointment as a new patient and often weeks to get an appt. as a regular patient, even when the situation is somewhat urgent. Other than that, I credit Dr. Duarte's office with saving my life, but more than that, they are compassionate, caring, and kind, while being knowledgeable too. I've never been made to feel 'stupid' for asking questions, which is something I've felt at other doctor's offices. Dr. Duarte and his fellow, Dr. Meena, both take the time to answer questions, explain things to me, and use terms I understand without talking down to me. They spend plenty of time with me at the office and have even followed up with phone calls just to check on how I am doing. I have been repeatedly impressed with their level of care and concern.

Dr. Duarte is the most caring and compassionate Dr. I have ever encountered. His concern is very much appreciated by patients and their families and more doctors need to have the same level of care and compassion. We could not have asked for anything more from him and have been overwhelmed by the follow-up since the passing of our family member.
