Dr. Alexander C Gatzimos, MD

Im going to skip alot of details so first and foremost; Dr. Gatzimos was amazing. He listens,understands, and most importantly, explains everything. On the other hand the woman that apparently runs the place his him on a leash. She was extremely rude to me over a misunderstanding that was NOT my fault. And one of the receptionists have a an attiude too. If you're lucky enough to see Dr. Gatzimos, make sure you either record your conversation (which IS legal in INDIANA) or you tell him to check with his boss before you get too excited about him helping you.

Both my wife and myself are former patients of Dr. Gatzimos and I have to say I wish someone would have given me this advice before we went to see him. To make this as short as possible I ‘ll just say we left after this man made highly inappropriate contact with my wife. After that I decided to look into this Doctor and was shocked at what I found. He had practiced in southern Indiana and was arrested for prescribing opioid medication and amphetamines to two undercover police officers. He was also caught breaking into his former wife’s office stealing computer equipment, patients records and a Cadillac. He had some other issues with a hospital but I couldn’t find proof only news reports. He moved to Iowa and had his medical License taken after illegal Medicare/Medicaid billing and treating children with mental health issues that were outside his level of expertise. So I’m a nutshell he’s a dishonest doc that cuts corners, illegally prescribing controlled substances and is has a… narcissistic Personality so if you’re looking for easy access to illegal drugs or to be sexually abused he’s your guy.

Dr. Gatz is very friendly and listens to what your concerns and needs are. After reading a few reviews here, if you've got a personal issue with him, it's YOU. Now as for his staff, they too often don't follow thru on calls, callback messages, and don't always get all the scripts called in, and can be slowso you have to watch them. Love the doctor, though. He does fall behind in appointment times but not sure if this is more of a result of him spending so much time with patients or his staff being inefficient.

I thought I had a good Dr. and on my frist meeting with him was on Decemeber 11, 2018. So on this day I came to my apt. and sat down an waited for 40 mins. then I was called back to the room and was tolded that we do this to all new patiences but I was NEVER tolded this they take blood, urine, to send out and since I was not told this they were only able to get my bloodwork. So we started talking about my meds, we went thru my list of medicines and why and what they are and do, but I have been on these meds for a while and I know what they do and what they are used for and why I take them, He tolded me that to listen first and then answer questions. He told me that he has a list he goes from head to toe and you are to fill in when he ask you that question. Which was very few.... I left and was told to come back in 2 weeks and I did after having a test done which he really did not give me a very good answer. But put me on meds for my bones. He also told me that I needed to go on thyroid… meds and the one he prescribed make me sick and I had told him this as well and he said take it with food. So I thought I would try this again and it still made me sick. Oh and the biggest thing is when I went to pick up my meds and was informed that he had called in 3 othe scripps that were higher dosages and a LOT more MONEY. I take Metformin XR and he sent over another script and it was over $1000.00 for me to pay out of pocket luckey for me my insurance refused to pay and also another script was also refused he had me take a very large dose of this med went from 8mcg twice a day to 24mcg twice a day. I had called to speak with the DR. but no one had bother to call me back. If you say I am doing good with what I am taking and not discuse that we need to make some changes and then make them you are in the WRONG. I WILL NOT PUT MY HEALTH IN YOUR HANDS.

This man should not be practicing medicine. He refused to provide an extremely ill patient with the prescription she desperately needs (NOT pain meds). When I went to his office with the patient, the doctor's wife was beyond rude and dismissive telling me I could wait as long as I wanted, she didn't care. I asked for the doctor, whom I saw sitting in the back room, and he refused to come out. Finally I brought the ill patient in and the doctor came at us both very aggressively, yelling that we are obnoxious, getting in the face of both myself and the now-sobbing patient. He called us names, told us we were manipulative, and yelled for no less than 10 minutes straight before threatening to call the police. I told him he was not a doctor if he refused to help his patient. He again called me names. The patient sat sobbing in the lobby, and the wife yelled over, "Well, you seem to be able to make you appointments with your other doctor, so..." implying that the patient was purposely… missing appointments with his office. The truth is, this patient is unbelievably ill (on a transplant list in Indianapolis), is unable to drive herself, has difficulty finding transportation and isn't able to care for herself alone. The patient told me that he had verbally assaulted her during past visits, but no one was there to witness it. Well, today I witnessed it, and I experienced it. This is a horrible man. This is a horrible office. Do not, DO NOT take a loved one here. I would personally pay out of pocket for a doctor out of network before seeing this horrible horrible person. All of this is true. He is not safe.

Well my experience with this Dr was very good and I really thought he was a nice Dr which cared for his patients. He believes in medication which helps his patients. The Knox Indiana office of this Dr, there's a therapist by the name of Laura which controls this Dr gatzimos. I tried going to this Dr, and he treated me well, but the therapist Laura actually treated me like I was a druggie and she actually throwed me out of the Dr gatzimos program. Thanks Dr, I tend to believe there's some kind of relationship going on with this Dr and the therapist. Well anyway, who cares. Watch this place!

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this QUACK!!! He is crazy and cusses and screams at his staff and patients, and so does his office manager/wife in the front. Google him and you will find all kinds of interesting information about him and getting his license taken away for fraud.

Dr G doesn't listen he talked and follow a list he nothing but a pill pusher. he has been charged in the past Down in boon country and get off because off some bull crap if you search Dr in the area he prescribe the most pills in the area, find another Dr that will listen to you .
