Dr. Alexander Boris Gelfer, MD

Dr. Gelfer came highly recommended, so when a member of our family developed breathing issues we naturally called their office. We have called each week for more than three weeks now to try and make an appointment. Each time we are told that they are scheduling 6-8 weeks out. It happens, good Dr's are busy. But then the staff says that they will have to call back to set up an appointment, and they never do. We have been on this merry-go-round now for nearly a month. What office doesn't make an appointment? This is just pure incompetence. Do yourself a favor and call someone else.

Very disappointed in the service provided by this office. The staff and on-call doctors were rude and arrogant and always had a long wait. It seems like Dr. Gelfer is very knowledgeable but it’s difficult to communicate with him. He asks a few questions and then types on a computer for 20 minutes, then you’re dismissed. If you ask any questions, he acts like your stupid and never really explains what’s going on.

The doctor is good, spends enough time. The only problem he types the entire time. I gave him only 2 points because of the rudness of the staff. I have never seen the medical staff to be so rude, They act like patients bother them, rolling their eyes when you ask them a question. When I was waiting to check out two women at the desk were badmouthing patient who just left saying that she was nuts. They didn't even try to whisper. They discussed her out loud. Stay away from this practice unless you want to be trashed by their staff.
