This man objected to my flinching when he tried to insert the first IV I'd ever had, when I was 17. He sarcastically demanded to know "haven't you ever had an IV before?" I said no. He continued to be completely hostile. He objected to me wanting the blanks in the consent form filled in as to what type of anesthesia I would receive, before I would sign it, instead of doing what he wanted me to do, which was sign the form with the blanks left open. As retribution for these two things, which obviously angered him, he put Valium in my IV, which not only was not on the consent form and unnecessary, (I was having an epidural) but he put it in too small a vein and way too fast, and collapsed the entire vein, which was very painful for weeks. I was donating bone marrow for my brother who was dying of leukemia, so there was no "moral" basis he can claim for this abuse, such as I was a pregnant teenager and he feels that is wrong.
